This is probably a very silly question, but...
I'm playing as a, uh, sword wizard dude, and I've got about 6 different combat arts I've learned. I read in the quickstart that you can have a combat art assigned to 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0, but I only show two on the screen, and can't seem to assign anymore. Same with equipment, I only see two on the screen but 1-5 should be different quick equipments, right? I've looked in the manual, can't find it, am I missing something?
Thanks.

Early characters are limited this way, as you progress through the game, you will 'unlock' additional slots at certain levels.
edit: Slot unlock level table
1 get at level 1
2 get at level 2
3 get at level 8
4 get at level 16
5 get at level 30

Hey, sweet, thanks. Exactly what I needed to know. Kind of a silly thing to have to unlock though, if you ask me, but hey.
No problem.
I have to agree with the unlocking. While it can work as a reward, it's not implemented too well. Some kind of extra perk/bonus/effect would of been cool to go along with it.
I've found with most builds; one tends to gain the slots fairly easily, and you either end up not using them, or wanting far far more, especially combat-arts/magic.
