Success (to an extent) - I can confirm that the version 1.0 of Robin Hood LoS runs smoothly for me under Windows 7.
While the game still suffers from the same problem as described here (I have yet to stumble upon a solution) ...
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/desperados_series/displaying_enemy_field_of_vision_lowers_fps
... the overall experience is uncomparably better.

We should ask GOG to make v1.0 available for download, v1.1 is barely playable.

I agree. I asked GOG in this forum. I asked GOG in my support ticket.
No answer from either front.
Are there any other ways to get their attention?

We could, as a last resort, create a new thread dedicated to this subject in the "General Discussion" section.

I'll try resurrecting this thread for now, let's see if that works.

Just to let you know, we are looking into it and hopefully get this resolved soon.
Sorry for trouble.

Ok Guys i know how to make working english version.
You must install 2 version of game in different location, Eng version for example in
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Robin Hoodeng
and Ger version in
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Robin Hoodger
And now we have 2 installed version of the same game, GER version work, ENG not,
then we copy some files from GER version and paste it and replace in ENG version.
Select all files from GER version folder
(C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Robin Hoodger), leave only 1031 and DATA folders unselected, then copy it in ENG version folder
(C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Robin Hoodeng).
That 1031 and Data folders are lang (GER) files that why we dont need them.
Its all, now the ENG version work fine and we have eng letters and voices.
Dont know if it work fine all the game i do it now and first time but for now I do not notice any bugs.

Yep, as I thought.
All you need to copy is FONTS folder inside Data\Interface\ from any non-English version.
We won't be able to update installer today, but I'll give you a link to download necessary files in a minute.

EDIT: You can grab them from here

- go to game install folder
- backup 'Fonts' folder inside DATA\Interface
- unpack Fonts.zip directly to DATA\Interface overwriting files when needed

EDIT 2: The new build is up and includes this fix.

Thank you, that indeed works! I should have figured out the problem is fonts-related, the GOG version and the retail 1.0 one I've installed differ in that regard.

Apologies for asking this question again, but is there a way to fix the annoying issue described here:
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/desperados_series/displaying_enemy_field_of_vision_lowers_fps

It plagues both Robin Hood and Desperados.

Thank you.
Works beautifully.
It works way better than it was, thank you!

But, can you check "3d sound" in sound options? I still have this disabled. Just curious.
You all rule. I thought I was out of luck with this purchase from steam, they just wrote it off as video card incompatibility and pretty much sent out a big FU to those of us who it didn't run for. It runs great now thanks to you. You just got yourself a convert...
