When I downloaded the game and installed via GOG galaxy, it was not launching for me. I tried to run the app using open River\ City\ Ransom\ Underground.app/Contents/MacOS/RCRU, which gave me a permissions error, and thenI had to manually run chmod -R 755 /Applications/River\ City\ Ransom\ Underground.app/ in order to get the app to work.

It seems to be working fine now, but likely needs to be fixed. Or maybe it's just an issue I experienced.

For Windows the game requires XNA Framework to run, and this game is one of the few that has no included drivers (I like this because I hate when these softwares install random things on my computer). I can imagine you may need a similar driver for Mac too.

The only special thing the game requires is the XNA framework. I don't know how to get it for Mac or Linux, but here is the download link for the Windows version:

I just bought the game and it also won't launch on my iMac. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it with no luck. I also did Verify / Repair with no luck. The store requirements never mentioned anything about having to download something to get it to work.

Here's my iMac's specs:

Version 10.13.6
iMac 21.5 in, Mid 2014
Processor 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

Any help to get this game up-and-running would be much appreciated.

I CANT PLAY IN WINDOWS 10.. THE GAME SHOWS LIKE SYNC ACTION AND THEN THE GREEN BUTTOM OF PLAY APPEAR ONCE AGAIN... I CANT LAUNCH THE GAME... PLEASE HELP
