I recently receives a task from a mage (Fruco or whatever) to get 20 rock crystals. This is near end game - I searched every waterfall and have maybe six. Now, I've been finding them throughout the game but have been selling them to my crewman Guardian. Should I have been saving them so I could complete this task? I'm thinking there is likely only about 20 total.

Don't worry about it too much for now. ;) Also, IIRC, all the available ones should show up on your map when you activate the quest markers. That's usually a pretty solid indicator of whether there are any more currently available quest items for most sidequests in the game.

I see what you mean (and thanks for a noin-spoiler!). Total surprise.
