Is anyone running Resonance in Wine (Wineskin Winery)?

If so, could you share the used Engine and Wrapper version?

Thanks in advance!

why you are not using the ags linux version and run it that way?
Given that mrtophat101 mentions Wineskin, this is probably about OSX, for which there is no working AGS build, afaik.
well actually there is one i guess, haven't a mac ...to confirm that
download the mac demo version of "Vohaul Strikes Back" http://www.sqvsb.com/download
grap the AGS binary from there and and do a install like i mention in the "Resonance - Linux Gamers" post, i guess it should be nearly the same :)

good luck

I am on a Mac indeed.

I'll check it out, thanks for your help.

For those interested, I got it running in Wineskin Winery.

Used Engine: WS8Wine.1.1.18 (Mouse issues using the latest engine, hence this version.)

Used the latest Wrapper version. (2.5.5)

No problem. :)

It doesn't seem to be very stable though. It has been crashing a few times for me.

Yeah, I've been having the on-and-off crashing issue as well :-/. Sometimes with a "fatal exception" error dialog, and other times it goes fullscreen into 640x480 with a black screen and cursor, then quits immediately.

I'll add one more thing: before trying the older WS8Wine.1.1.18 engine I used the most recent Wine Engine 1.5.6, with the same result regarding crashing.

It's strange, most AGS games work fine with Wine (through Wineskin Winery) in my experience.

Anyway, thanks for posting about this! I'd love it if the use of Wineskin Winery to run GOGs were discussed more on these forums, for the benefit of Mac users.

Actually, the only Mac download found at the link you gave is a Wineskin Winery-bundled Windows release of that AGS game, so it's not 'native' unlike the Linux AGS port you mentioned. Since AGS went open-source recently there are at least a few people working on proper cross-platform ports, and this includes a Mac release, but last time I checked there's not enough progress to get too excited about it for now.

I'd seen that post before, but hadn't tried it out. I gave it a go with Resonance just now. Pretty cool! It's impressive how well it works for such an early version.

Still, no fullscreen for the time being and videos don't currently play. Assuming the port author stays interested, though, it seems like this will be a solid enough port fairly soon :-). I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
