Hi all, I have a little problem with Requiem : Avenging Angel. The game works fine, but every 5 minutes I have a black screen and I go back automatically on Windows desktop. I can go back on the game immediately but it's annoying.
The game run on 3DFX, it's on fullscreen. I didn't change any option on nglide_config (1.04).
Anyone have this problem? Have you got a solution? Thank you for your help.

Try setting the native resolution of your monitor/desktop in config.
Also, did you notice any other application (or some kind of windows notification even) that could demand your "attention" and bring itself to the front, therefore minimizing the game?

edit: Ending all programs that are not needed in task manager might give good effects.
As a last resort, maybe forcing the program to always stay on top would help, but I don't think that's a desirable solution http://www.howtogeek.com/196958/the-3-best-ways-to-make-a-window-always-on-top-on-windows/

On my task manager I just only have Geforce Experience and Eset Smart Security. I will try to force Requiem to be always on top maybe, it's weird.
Task manager - > Details, it should show a lot of processes. They may be hidden, but still cause the issue.
You obviously can't close ALL the processes, as you want to leave the Windows ones (and in the long run, things like anti-virus, etc).

I am not sure how to trace which process might be the cause.

edit: Are you using Windows 7? If so, going to simple picture mode might fix the issue. I'm on 10, so hard to say.

Yes, i suffered from that also. In my case i had to disable the secondary monitor completly, so that in the nVidia control panel under "set up multiple displays" just one monitor remains. I installed Win 10 yesterday, never set up the second monitor, screen was dark, but it was present for Windows/nVIdia so the problem re-appears.
Uncheck the box for the secondary monitor and all went fine again.

Should work also for AMD grafix i suppose.

Maybe this tool can help if you dont want to disable your second monitor, but this hint from another topic could be a completly different problem:

"If so I solved my issue by using Dual Display Mouse Manager
(And turned off ctrl as a way to change screens)

Hello,

I have contacted the technical support on GOG and indeed olaf313, the problem was related to the second monitor. I have desactivated by the control panel the second monitor and now, I don't go back anymore on Windows desktop ! Thanks for all people who helped me about the subject. Problem solved.
Has anyone tried the game on Win7 with multiple monitors? Does it have a windowed mode?
I have this problem more often that 5 minutes, is almost everytime when mouse is near screen edge.. I have Win 7 64bit Nvidia drivers and 3 monitors and 2 on second and turn off monitor is quite annoying because of desktop icons and impossiblity to watch something during gameplay.

I did some research, game unfortunatly using nglide 1.04 and window mode has nglide 1.0.5:
http://www.zeus-software.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=874
- through ALT+ENTER, maybe nglide in game folder could be upgraded, maybe not and this has to be done by Gog team other possibility is game inside Vmware workstation virtual machine.

I did it! its running in Window mode.

Here is how to:
- install game through Gog - normal install
- switch 3D mode game in config to Glide, default for me was Direct3D
- download nglide 1.0.5
-extract nglide instalator to folder with 7zip - yeah i could extract even *.exe file
- copy all *.dlls and nglide configurator to game folder, replace all original files
- start game
- start new game, real gameplay - because menu is not probably full 3D mode
- Press ALT+ENTER - for Window mode
- there is small glitch ENTER is in game used for some messiging, so if you cant move after ALT+ENTER,
press Enter once more.

Resolution etc, could be adjusted in nglide configurator.

Proof is attached (whiteplaces is privacy censorship, its not photoshoped).

Optimal:
"spam" nglide autor to implement bordless window mode and Gog boys for upgrade all games with
included nglide to version 1.0.5!

Enjoy to be master race!

Does windowed mode work on a system with multiple monitors?

Yeah, otherwise tutorial make no sense.
For me I cannot even get into real gameplay as the game crashes to desktop after new game start. nglide is still runnig and I need to stop the process in the task manager.
