I think there might be a problem with my game. I'm completely new to the Redneck Rampage series, so forgive me if this is an asinine question. When my character gets the least bit injured, he begins immediately drinking the whiskey without me hitting any keys. Is that supposed to happen? It's really infuriating, because it causes the character to get drunk and makes him difficult to control, and if you drink too much your character becomes defenseless! I know you can take a, "quick pee" to lower the meter, but you can only do that once. I should be able to decide when I want to replenish my health. I did mess around with the controls, but all I did was switch the arrows to the more familiar WASD setup. I also fixed an audio problem I was having, but I didn't even look at the inventory controls. Is it some sort of glitch? Thanks for reading!

Should not happen unless you hit the correct button. Eat first :},
I would definitely choose to eat first, but the game doesn’t allow me! I hope I expressed myself well in my first post. It’s really odd. It goes straight for the whiskey without me hitting any keys. I guess I’ll take a look at the controls again, and make sure that WASD isn’t somehow one of the drink whiskey buttons. I wonder if it didn’t download properly? I haven’t had any problems with the second game, Redneck Rampage Rides Again. Though I don’t think I’ve encountered any whiskey yet, just pork rinds. I guess I can sort of “fix” the game by avoiding all the whiskey, but that would be a pain.

I looked at the other threads here and various Youtube comments, and nobody else seems to have this problem. Ugh, it’s really annoying! Anyway, thanks for the prompt reply!

I guess from my vagueness, you can tell I have no idea why it is happening. Sometimes virus protection/fire walls screw up the installation. But I do know that it shouldn't. Sorry I'm not more help; generally I'm the guy getting help.
No really, thank you. I appreciate it. I don't have any update. It's still happening. I guess I'll delete it, and download it again. I can't really think of anything else to do.
Finally encountered some whiskey today in Redneck Rampage Rides Again, same thing happened. The character started chuggin' down the whiskey. I'm going to continue playing it, because whiskey seems pretty uncommon in the sequel, but I think I'm going to reinstall the first game and Suckin' Grits on Route 66. I still can't get over that name. That's hilarious. XD Anyway, hopefully that will correct the problem.

In a way of thinking, I'd bet that good 'ol boy wouldn't have the will power to not drink any whiskey he found. :)))

BTW you sure it wasn't the controls? Did you check the control list from top to bottom? As for installing the game, whenever you install a GOG game right click the install file and click "Run as Administrator". Also, when you change the controls run the setup file as administrator and run the game itself as administrator too. Whiskey may have a hotkey that drinks it automatically; I would assume that it's bound to W. Good luck, hope this helps you with this issue. I understand how frustrating whiskey can be :). I always drank too much by accident in the game :\.

Oh my God, I’m an imbecile. I gave the control setup another look, and sure enough W was assigned to Move Forward and Drink Whiskey. You were right, Kil3r. I’m not sure how I missed that every time. I guess because I thought it would be under the Inventory key instead. I’ve never considered myself computer savvy, but man, at the moment I feel about as smart as Leonard and Bubba! Kind of surprised this hasn’t happened to anyone else though. Not that I would wish this frustration on anyone else, but most PC gamers prefer WASD over the arrow keys.

But enough complaining, I fixed it. All the games play perfectly now. I want to thank you two so much. This was my first experience here on the GOG forums, and you guys were extremely helpful. Thanks for helping a newb out! :)
