Okay, this game has given me SO many problems, for some reason, and without doing anything, I cannot get into the game. It worked fine, not it doesn't even get to any menu's. I see an arrow and then it shuts off. I have reinstalled, I have uninstalled and deleted any trace of the game and reinstalled to no avail. What can I do?

I am having the exact same problem. Red Baron I works just fine, but RB3D crashes after the "Sierra Online" logo appears and the game tries to load.
You guys wouldn't be running Vista by any chance? If you are, then that's probably the issue. I'm running XP, and RB3D runs perfectly on my system! :)

Tried reinstalling it to a folder other then program files and then setting the compatibility for 98 or xp?
I was having the same trouble in Vista. This is what got me past it:
Please try to run the game in window by changing the shortcut's value
to: [ "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Red Baron Pack\Red Baron
3D\Baron.exe" -window ].
RB3D does not want to run in DD mode in Vista. By using the -window, I was able to set the game to Glide mode (with help of a wrapper.) and can now play the game.
This fix worked for me but the game runs super fast any ideas??

Are you running the GOG version or retail + patch? Which Glide emulator do you have? DGvoodoo?

If you have the GOG version and it is still running too fast, try using the setspeed program to alter the speed of the game.

Before using the set speed, I would add modded terrain and maybe better plane models. The extra load will slow the game down and make it look so much prettier.

You can get terrain at:
http://www.wingsofhonour.com/redbaron3d/resources/html_woh_redbaron3d_resources_files_unofficialpatches_graphics_terraintextures.en.html#ote_3d
or
http://www.rb3d.net/Swordfish/links.htm

You can get some very nice plane models here:

I'm not entirely certain it works for you but with the glide wrapper I'm using (nGlide) I can choose to put vsync on. This seem to solve the speed issue for me.
