tl,dr: There's any place where I can find the different books, letters, maps, etc etc in plain, readable text?

Long story:

Some time ago I bought the game out of curiosity. I started playing and got quickly engaged by the atmosphere and, ironically, the controls. I managed to get somehow far to the story, but ended up stuck a bit after you get to a observatory in which you can read a diary who wrote a guy in the middle ages, or something like that. IIRC, I went a bit farther (there was a huge clock puzzle).

The thing is that I got to a point in which I did not know what was I doing or why. The journal was barely readable in the caligraphic-style font, and IIRC, there was some letters somewhere I just couldn't understood. Knowing that I was losing chunks of the background for the game, I steadily lose interest in it until some other game came across.

So... there's anywhere in which I can find a comprehensive list of all the texts on the game that I can browse to read in a comfortable way (i.e. search for that old guy journal and read it without having to navigate for other texts so I can avoid spoilers)?
In the last tab, you can use the people icons on themselves and "discuss" them it with rebecca.
Also note that the journal has multiple pages.
Also putting dosbox in some scaler mode also helps for reading (see http://www.gog.com/forum/realms_of_the_haunting/tips_for_beginners/post25 ).
I think you have to stick it out until you get to the story dump part in the game soon. Use a walkthrough if you find puzzles / mazes annoying.
Dear Neurus_Ex,
sparked by my tremendous fondness for this game, I've set up a ROTH wiki, a personal notebook if you will, as a repository of sorts, in which I try to gather as much information as possible, on the creative and cultural inspirations and influences of the game, on its history, its characters, its objects, with musings and reflections on its lore and a subjectivelly tinged walk through the Realms and their individual locations.
As such, I also started to transcribe most of the documents, like Florentine's Journal, which you were referring to. I hope they may be of some use for you.

Wow,thanks for that!

Sorry for the huge delay answering, for some reason the page didn't alerted me about the answers and forget about my topic >_>

Impressive work you got there, man, many thanks! I'll look forward to going back to the game!

Ah, don't worry about it. Thanks a lot for your kind reply. Happy frightening in the Realms of the Haunting and do feel free to share your impressions, if you like.

Post scriptum: please excuse my little clarification, but: I ain't no dude! (^_~)b

Thanks! (Yeah, bit busy those days I've been, lol). I have some work to do to make myself some files for my kindle, so I can read those files even more comfortably, so thanks again for taking the hard part of the work upon yourself.

And sorry, on those forums I default to dude gender, then FBI Agent, then the rest :P
I've got to say, this ROTH wiki of yours is one of best game's repositories I've seen. Came searching for same thing as the Neurus_Ex, as in-game text of the documents specifically on my system is unreadable, so that's how I got here. But I've also found this treasure cove of goodies. I also love the map highlights.
This game definitely deserved a quality wiki section and yours certainly goes even further, well done and thank you!

Thanks a lot for your kind reply. To hear these words of appreciation from the greatly revered Muten Roshi himself is especially flattering of course. Concerning my fondness for this game, I'm still indebted to my brother who would allow his little sister to sit next to him during his playing sessions and have me watch the screen in awe.

Concerning the image map highlights, I still have to work on these apparently. But I was really elated to find that someone had bothered to script such a useful wiki template. Kudos to קיפודנחש and Cornucopia!

Anyways, greetings to my not-so-faraway Croatian fellow! (^_~)/

Yes. I was just going to post a big thanks for the wiki! But I do have a question. Some of the topics are using dark brown fonts against a black background, making them very hard to read. Thanks again.

Thank you for you appreciation and feedback! As for the colour scheme, it's always a little hard to determine because monitors and screens can be so different. I was trying to somehow mimic the colours of the Tower, you see? I can try and choose a brighter, more discernible font colour though, if that would be better for you?

Maybe a touch more contrast? I like your idea of matching the colors of the Tower.

But is violet generally fine with you or should I aim for something a little less feminine like green or red? (^_~)
I was just thinking of something, instead of trying out different colour hues myself and asking for your feedback all the time, could I ask you to look at this site and choose your preferred colour? Just post the respective hex code right here, alright?
Wow. Thank you for the effort, but not necessary. Could be just my monitor. Don't change your theme just for me. If there is the same color available for the font, it only needs to be a touch lighter. Otherwise, I can deal. Thanks, though!

Oh, don't worry, that's absolutely no hassle to me. I just figured it would be easier if you chose a colour that's most appealing to your eyes. (^_~)
I've picked a lighter purple hue now, does that appear any better on your screen?
Thank you! That works.
