This is going to sound like a stupid question, and in all frankness, it is. I am at the "house" at the end of Ch 4. I have done everything here, I think, but I can not get the "tower stone" to work to get back to the tower. I have literally tried every key on my keyboard, every combination of things that I can do, and I still cannot get it. Tower masks, how do they work, how can I get them to work, oh shazbot, this is too hard for me:) Any help would be appreciated.

You tried to wear (use) the mask you got from Gnarl and then stand on the stone while wearing it ?

Yea I sure did, about 50 times. I could have forgot something, but I have done all that I can here. I got the key, killed the guards, did all that; but I just can't get it to work. Wow is me:)

Yea, I have done all of that, the thing that interested me was which mask ( I have two) I had and the position it was in when I tried the stone, and I had never thought of that. So I went back and tried all ways that I could use them and no dice:)

I am standing on the right thing aren't I - the gold disk thing? And I just run up on it, correct? When the girl and I came over I thought we had both masks on? Is there anything that you have to do when you pick up the map? That's all the question I have:)))

Stand on the gateway, open inventory, click on the mask, and then press your "use" key.

Yea, yea, I know - but it just doesn't work, there has to be something I am doing wrong, (dumb, stupid) but I can't get it done?. I am going make before I got the masks and get them again and see if that does any good (head slumped and walking away). Wish me luck?

When you reach / stand on the stone are you getting a voice message about entry to the tower?
If not it is possible that you are at the wrong stone there is more than one stone I can't remember if the other stones are accessible at this point or later in the game but you may be at the wrong stone.
Only one pair identical masks will work and they are the only masks that are a pair I can't remember if you find them as a pair or seperately.
If you are really stuck try reading one of the on line walkthroughs but only up to where you reach the tower stone and see if you have missed or done something wrong so far.

Don2712 I have all of the things I am supposed to have and I do get the voice but, alas, I just can't get the damn thing to work. I played from right before I got the masks and once i got them I go back to the room with the tower stone and I can't get that to work now, balderdash There is something I am not doing, or not doing correctly, but I can't figure it out. So this is the game hu,:)

-You go to Gnarl's realm
-You get the two masks while on Gnarl's Realm
-You go back to the house
-You go to the room with the tower gate
-You stand on the tower gate
-The voice tells you: "combine the face with the soul, traveller..."
-Rebbeca tells you that you should put on the masks
-You open your inventory, left click once on one of the masks you got from Gnarl and then you either right click or press 'u' to use the mask.

This doesn't work for you ?

And to confirm that your use key is actually functioning, you should be able to (for example) consume a health potion with that same method -- open inventory, click on potion, press the use key.

Alright, I have done each of the things that the two of you have suggested. Absolutely nothing happens. The voice gives his little speech, I then give each mask a left click and then again to place them in "my" active inventory, I press "u" and nothing happens. I pressed my right key and left two or three times, still nothing. My "u" key works for the potions with out any trouble, god have a wasted a lot of those portions:) I don't get it. Is there anyway that I can get GOG to get involved or do I need to do that?

You don't need to place the masks in your active inventory. Does picking it up with a left mouse click and then clicking it with the right muse button on its old location really not work? It looks like this:

You managed to get to the courtyard before, so at that point everything was working as it should. It looks like something glitched there, either the savegame or the install.

Try to fiddle with the settings using the Graphics Setup Tool, there's a shortcut to it in the game's start menu folder. Who knows, maybe it's a weird graphical glitch that is preventing the tower gate from working.

You could also try to revert to a previous save or start a new game all togheter, maybe it's a corrupt save you have there. If that fails you can aways try a full reinstall of the game.
