Starkrun: URL got borked here is a working link Eraser Bot 1.01

Eraser bots are KILLER in Action Quake2 Maps... the city ones are fantastic here is a link to a solid collection
That's Odd The Link was working Yesterday

I'm going to have to run a Virtual Machine with Windows 95 on it to extract the Eraser bots as the Executable is Maggoted and shits out on 64 bit win 10 systems

I know eraser Bots are excellent it almost feels like you are playing with a REAL opponent!

and in quickstart I used to make REAL tough opponents

What version of windows do you have Maybe you can extract it and Post it somewhere please Include everything even the Quickstart there are unzipped versions online but they Do not have Quickstart

I did just that, and ive ported all OCX and DLL plus akll dependancies over from XP/98/95 to get quickstart working but its all in vain...

default bots are all you get with auto pathgenerating turned on.

Anyways here is the file: Eraserbot 1.01 for GOG

As a note once installed it will be seen by the GOG launcher

http://www.fileplanet.com/33183/0/0/0/1/section/Bots these are still viable and the ice bot and launcher works as its based on visual basic 5 and that can be installed and run on any x64 system.

mk47at: IMHO the best source port is Yamagi Quake 2. It started as a Linux only port, but it runs on Windows and OS X as well. But there are only Windows binaries. Linux and OS X users are expected to compile it on their own.
I know this is an old message but that sounds like quite the headache.
Is there any reason to use Yamagi over the unofficial patch? Ive been messing around the patch and it seems to work great.

haydenaurion: Here's a link to a simple Quake 2 patch that adds widescreen support and a few other things without drastically changing the game at all: http://leray.proboards.com/thread/3258/quake2-24-unofficial-patch-released

I tried it with the gog version and it works just fine.
I tried this. The game still refuses to play in full screen. Nor is there any HUD. What should I do now?

that sounds like you have it on a higher resolution than your monitor can handle. If you cant see the HUD. If it's on a higher resolution than your hardware is able it will just put it in a window that size and only show part of the window since your screen might not be big enough to do 4k resolution if thats what you picked.

Is there any way to change the protocol on the 3.24 patch? That is one thing I wish it had I hate having to switch to r1q2 and download assets then switch back. r1q2 for some reason does not support my resolution on my laptop 1366x768 and I like the renderer better on the 3.24 patch anyway. trying to change protocol says its write protected probably because it isnt coded for that but is there any way I can make it download assets faster at all?

Just installed GOG version of Quake 2, patched it with unnoficial patch 3.24 and moved music into baseq2 folder. All works perfectly fine BUT... I literally can't get my reprogrammed Data Spinner in Lower Palace.

Normally you have to insert 2 data discs and then activate keyboard to have pedestal alter from beneath a floor with new shiny Data Spinner (i even watched YouTube walkthrought), but the thing is in my case the pedestal is empty (but i see small explosion).

UPD:
Quake 2 Data Spinner workaround possible via "noclip" command (put 2 discs, noclip, go down, noclip, take Data Spinner, noclip, go back, noclip, press keyboard, proceed as usual)

No game breaking bugs were encountered during my playthrough for both mission packs (The Reckoning, Ground Zero).

it not a patch. It a mod and surce-port as well as full KMQ2. Ans same s**t. Not needed at all. As mentioned in first reply in this thread - Yamagi.
Or if you want some *lite-* source-ports - DirectQII and\or Facelift-mod source-ports. First one is a one exe file (3.21 gamex86.dll are recommended, from same author or someone else) - DirectQII.exe and not replace anything in installation folder. Second one require exe-patching (check install instruction in readme) and replace one dll file.

Yamagi do not have any pack archives (use original textures), but archive contain a bit more dll files tham Facelift.
Link is broken, now what?
