I've had sound problems with the Linux version of the game. The simple fix is to substitute the shipped OpenAL library file with the current one. Is there a possibility for it to be included by default?
There might be.
Unfortunately, the chances of someone from GOG's staff reading this post are pretty slim. You might want to direct your request at either GOG's support, the GOG moderator linuxvangog or Double Fine Productions directly.

Best of luck!

This request should be directed to the game developer. You can contact them at support@doublefine.com.

Hi, I am somewhat new to Linux, could you tell me how to "substitute the shipped OpenAL library file with the current one" on Linux. I am using Linux Mint 19

Unfortunatelly I didn't notice this thread and I had to came up with this on my own. In my case I had openal installed in my system lib32-openal (Arch/Manjaro), so everything that i had to do was to remove libopenal.so.1 from {game directory}/game.

Basically you can install this lib to your system and remove it from game in order to let it be picked up from system libs.

I could not fins a lib such as that on my synaptic package manager, do you know what it would have been called on my system?

Edit: I deleted the "libopenal.so.1" file on the installation folder and the game works perfectly, I did not have to do or install anything else. I am using Linux Mint 19.3

Hi, I am using Linux Mint 19.3 and all I had to do to fix the sound issue was to delete the libopenal.so.1 file located on the installation folder for this game, this fix was suggested by the post made by Baer1911. can you please let the developers know or put this up as a fix for other people. Thank you.
