The POSTAL 1 update is live :)
Woot!

I'd bought this ages back and despite trying it on two different PCs with different hardware/OS I was never able to get it running in an acceptable manner. I downloaded the updated version this morning and perfecto! No problems whatsoever. I can finally see what all the fuss was about during 1997.

I'm so impressed with the devs issuing a patch for this good old game that I think I might buy an extra copy to giveaway.

Postal 1? oh... b'sod I misunderstand the whole topic. I thought it was the official update of Postal 2...

(psssst... when is Postal 3?)
Just a quick question for you Toploader, You mentioned you are adding Steam workshop support into postal 2 for mods, that's great but how do users of the GOG and retail versions get the mods since workshop is tied into steam? (this was the case last time I checked)

Also, I have been following the thread over on Facepunch forums, the update is looking great!

Part of the reason the GoG build didn't get updated yet is because we want to offer the same experience to GoG owners as Steam. This means a full in game achievement system, and also we'll have a re branded workshop that will allow users to manually install mods people release onto workshop. It won't be as seamless as Steam but will work the same once installed into the right folders.

Thanks for the reply Toploader, That system sounds great, and it would solve the problem of mods only being uploaded to workshop. Is there an ETA on when the patch will hit GOG?

Rough estimate.

Thanks for the info
It will be great if this really happens for GoG too. You are an awesome role model for all those recent AAA productions. Even better that you make your changes optional. I have wished soooo many times that a developer would think of that. Just make everything optional. Can't be that hard to program an on- / off switch for patch features in a singleplayer game.
This is as great as the "unstuck feature" in Postal 2. If you can't build a world without clipping-glitches, figure out how to get along wih them. works great for me everytime!
Thank you for your efforts, I hope they pay off!

I remember discussing this exact topic in the new Carmageddon forum, there are a bunch of... technically not-inclined people and where against this. They stated that makes the game confusing with too many options and such...
I agree with you, but reading those comments made me understand why developers do not always do that (and leave that forum).

Is there any chance of seeing Postal 2 updated to support GOG Galaxy for all of that stuff in the future? That would put it more on par with Steam in theory although it's just speculation until the service is launched later this year. Developers such as yourself likely have more of an inside scoop on what Galaxy is capable of and the feasibility of adding it to a particular game. It would however be pretty cutting edge to see Postal 2 be one of the first titles to support Galaxy when it is announced.

I dunno about everyone else but I'm dying to play the updated game and waiting for the GOG Downloader to tell me there is a Postal 2 update available. The wait is starting to feel a bit like waiting for The Witcher 3 but on a different level. ;o) Now... if you tell us to wait longer while you add GOG Galaxy support, that would be worth the nail biting I imagine. ;)

This is like waiting for the next season of a hit TV show to start after a 9 month cliffhanger. :)
Right now, I only know what you know about Galaxy, but yeah I'd love to support it as much as we can, seems like a great move by the GOG team :)

Sound have more news about the P2 updates for GOG soon.
Still waiting for more news about P2 GOG Update. ;) Because I don't know if I should play now, or wait a little bit longer. I'm collecting saves from games (like Dexter blood samples), and I'm worried about compatibility in future. ;)
It looks like it is finally here!

I'm looking forward to the expansion. :)
