This will fix the problem with the left arrow key not turning the dude correctly, and also the issue where dead people would spin on the ground after they died for a while.

Unzip it into your Postal install folder and overwrite the previous .exe.

Wow thanks, I can confirm this works! Been a long time and I had almost given up hope of this issue ever getting fixed, but I can finally re-play this old game like how I used to play it, with keyboard only.
Awsome, this fix worked for me as well. Thank you for the tip.
No problem guys, sorry it took so long to get it worked out for you. I'll talk to gog.com about replacing the installer they have with our new one.
About time this was fixed. -thumbsup-
I just bought the game tonight and right away I noticed the left key issue, so I downloaded the fix.

The funny thing is, the "fix" did fix the left key issue and the npc's stopped spinning after being shot to death.

However...

After applying the fix quite a few of the npc's that were alive stopped shooting and started spinning. I'm using Windows 7 x64, so maybe thats the issue? I went back to the original exe and although the left key is borked again, at least the npc's don't spin while they're still alive. But before I went back to the original exe, I tried compatibility mode and I tried running the program as an admin, didn't seem to help.

Seeing as I bought the game tonight and the left key is an issue, I'm going to assume Gog didn't replace the installer, yet. I'd highly advise against replacing it since it does seem to make things worse on some systems, and if the installer is replaced others who run into the issue I ran into won't be able to go back to an earlier exe if the installer is replaced.
The above poster has the same problem as me: The characters all spin while they are alive.

It's rather silly to play like that. They all stand in a single spot and spin around like crazy. I can left turn perfectly, right turn perfectly... well, everything is fine for my character's movement, but the NPC's movements are all messed up. Doesn't matter if they have weapons or not, they all do it. They do however shoot still, they just do it spinning.

I guess others didn't get this issue with the fix. I tried several things like compatability mode and such, but nothing fixed it.
While I didn't try this with the GOG version but with the actual CD copy of Postal Plus, it works but I have the same issue that the others have with the NPC characters spinning while standing. I am using a Windows 7 x64 PC just to throw it out there.

I just tried this. I have the same issue, NPCs will spin in place.

Windows 7 64-Bit. Compatibility modes don't work, I even tried changing affinity. What a shame.
This worked well. It fixed the problem, Thank you.
Same problem with Windows 7 x64 - spinning NPC's making the game almost pointless.
link seems to have a virus attached. Comon people grow up.

Edit: it may be me, but all forms of this update show up as a trojan.

Not working correctly. The left-turning hotfix sort of works, but turning left still works very differently than turning right. There's a noticeable delay between pressing Left and the guy starting to turn, and between letting go of the button and the guy stopping to turn. Also, if I'm running forward and press Left just as I stop running, the character spins really fast and ends up aiming in the wrong direction. None of this happens when turning right. This makes the controls really inconsistent and playing the (already pretty challenging) game harder for the wrong reasons.

I didn't play long enough now to see any spinning NPCs though.
I'm running Win 7 Ultimate x64, just installed the patch and it works great. I'm not experiencing any of the spinning NPCs or other glitches other users are reporting. Thanks for the update! Time to crack open a Four Loko and get to the killin'! :D
