Upon completing the load screen from entering the Library on Tuesday, the game crashes and a window pops up with the following:

Critical Error

If you don't have DirectX 8.1b or later installed then please install it now. Otherwise, check the Postal 2 Tech Support site for more information.

I have DirectX 11.....This is a major problem since I cannot progress in the game!!

My specs:

Lenovo Laptop
Intel T7200 2.0Ghz
3GB RAM
DirectX 11
Integrated Graphics 256MB
Windows 7 (64 bit)

I uninstalled, reinstalled, changed graphics to auto-wizard settings and it still happens. Please help!
Yes you have DirectX11, but now there are multiple DirectX installations.

Up to DX9 they were all adding into one DirectX library, so with each version it just upgraded and the new one was all-encompassing.

However, at DX9 this ended (coinciding with Vista). Vista had two DirectX installations, both DX9 and DX10. However, the DX9 version was DX9L, a compatibility version. It did not contain all of the DX9 libraries and so it was recommended to install the DX9c redistributable or to use the web installer to locate and install the missing DX9 components.

With Win7 we now have three DirectX installations - DX9, DX10 and DX11.

So, with the error message you are getting I would recommend running the DX9c redistributable or the web installer from Microsoft's download site.
I installed DirectX June2010 Redist, followed by DX Websetup, and then finally DXSDK June 2010, trying the game after each one - but to no avail. I must be missing something...

In that case, I don't think it's a DirectX issue - the error message itself does imply that it may not be DirectX as it advises you to go to the Postal 2 forums if DirectX is confirmed as installed, but at least we've eliminated DirectX.

Next up then, have you tried re-installing the game? Oh, yes, you have.

Updated graphics drivers?

Anything else running, like anti-virus, background tasks, etc (if so, kill them off first and see if that helps).

Could it be a corrupted save game? To test you'd need an earlier save and to replay from there and see if it still crashes.
Apparently there were several Windows 7 driver upgrades my computer needed...after that I uninstalled completely (saved games included), re-installed and blitzed up to the library to return the book on Tuesday ("Bitch can't even read,..."), Crash! Ah well, I still believe I have some complicated DirectX mismatch. It's time to upgrade to a better computer anyway, now that Postal 3 is about to launch...booya!

There's an even worse computer at work I play it on and I'm on Thursday...I'll finish just in time!
