First off, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone involved with getting POD Gold on GOG! One of my absolute favorites as a kid, and still one I love to go back and play today.

If anyone wants more content for the game, whether it be official DLC, fan-made tracks, updates, tweaks, or whatever else, there's a website called POD Phreak that has it all.

And yes, it's maintained by myself. I only post it here because this game has a ton of great content, and my site is one of the very last few remaining for the game, so if you couldn't locate the old cars from UbiSoft's servers this is the place to go.

Let me know if any links are dead, I'll restore them. Looking forward to seeing how much of the extra content can be installed to your GOG versions. So far I've had total success, using the instructions found here. Happy podding!

Good idea, I know your site from a long time, I'm happy to know that you're still updating it.
By the way, I've see that you don't have the AlderOEM track. If you need it, I've got it.
The only tracks i never found is "arcade", it seems that this track has disapeared forever.

For those whom wanted to know : this is a list of officials cars released by Ubi Soft. As you can see, gog have only 32 tracks, it lacks back to hell exclusive tracks, and some originals versions from pod OEM.
And for cars... well, I'm guess you can see it by yourself : there are 52 officials cars, and only 16 of them are on gog.

Certainly wouldn't mind a link to AlderOEM! I've also been on the lookout for arcade, sad it seems to be lost. The patchers? Like the CD Patcher? It works just fine with the GoG release of POD, so long as the game is installed to the original POD directory and is set to run under Win95 compatibility mode. This is so it can detect the POD installation. At least, this worked for me. Not sure if you need POD info in your registry or not, I'll have to try it on another machine.

And yes, I'm the Lazy Game Reviews dude on YouTube, and I know Steve! He's an awesome guy, very entertaining videos of retro software and kit.

Thanks for the links! I actually had those first three on my site a while back, until I got an email from someone who claimed to be the creator of them asking me to remove the links to them. I still have them on the server, they're just not linked to on the main tracks page.

Excellent site for POD fans. Congratulations!

I have 2 suggestions, though:

1. Add HTML-only links at the top menu. currently, if someone can't run the flash player (for whatever reason), it is impossible to access the site. That's also bad because search engine bots (like Google) won't index your site.

I know, that POD button look and feel, with that clicking sound is great, nostalgic. But it can be done without flash. (or, you can use HTML/CSS buttons and, upon clicking, triggers the sound on a hidden flash element)

2. I know it takes some work, but the cars and tracks pages would be a lot better if included screenshots (even small ones, just thumbnails).

I've been meaning to do just that for years now :D
I haven't because barely anyone was using the site and I had very little time to dedicate to it. Now that there is a bit more of a userbase with the GoG release, perhaps I will!
There is a way, I'm playing the GOG version with lots of fan-made and official extra content! I gave a basic set of instructions in my OP, but I'll likely make a more detailed tutorial in the nearish future. EDIT: Here it is!

I'm having a problem with CDPatcher2 for Pod, every time I try to click on a car to install it immediately clicks off of it so I can't highlight it to install it. Can delete cars just fine, just can't install them.

Game runs fine on it's own too. Anyone know why I can't do this?

Yes, I had that issue until I changed the CD Patcher 2 to use Windows 95 compatibility mode.
