There is no Black Isle logo in the trailer and what's more important Black Isle, a firm that made Planescape: Torment is not mentioned in the Store page, instead modders are. This is outrageous! They're trying to rewrite the history and don't give credit where credit is due.

I've also got shadowbanned by Beamdog on their YouTube channel (my summary of MCA Q&A wasn't published, only I can see it) and they buried my comment under the trailer video which quickly became most upvoted one. In general they have a tendency to ban anyone who dares to criticize them, especially on Beamdog forums.

And last but not least they're pathetic liars, they've just announced that GOG is not at fault and it was "joint decision" even though they were spreading lies earlier, trying to shift the blame on GOG. And they're lying now, it's hard to call it a "joint decision" when they were threatening GOG to go to Steam exclusively if they won't comply.

Anyway, proof of their lies is here:

Beamdog Support (Customer Support)

Hello Adam,

Thanks for contacting Beamdog support. My name is Charles, and I will be assisting you.

I am sorry you believe that we are the cause of this, but I can assure you we have no say in what other retailers do with our titles (discounts/bundles, etc).

That being said, GOG brought the idea to our attention and over a year ago Cameron decided that it was a positive choice, I am sorry you are negative towards this, but I want you to know you are supporting the people who make those decisions, and blaming the ones who don't.

We also have no say in what happens to the original versions of the games, we aren't the owners of those and only licensed them to create our Enhanced Editions.

I hope this clarifies things and you have a great day!
-Charles

It was obvious from the start since they did the same with Baldur's Gate:

So the only logical thing to do is to boycott these modders who call themselves developers and usurp the credits:

They also blamed WOTC for the bundling last year. Then they switched to GoG.
I agree. I got banned on the Beamdog forums too.

That's a common thing:

Beamdog has demanded for my wishlist removal and GOG has complied. Outrageous considering that I'm not breaking any rules and the list was one of the most popular ones (last time I checked it had around 500 votes and it was either 1st, 2nd or 3rd depending on the game). Pure decline.

Considering this is a company that ensures originals can't be sold separately once their "enhanced" versions come out, and when questioned about it attempted to shift blame to WOTC and GOG, and when they finally came out and admitted that it was their doing they did it with the most nauseating corporate-speak imagineable - it's not really a great surprise.

Considering they ban people from their forum as soon as they detect criticism, I'm more surprised it took them this long to do it - though I suspect they may have started negotiating with GOG about this some time ago and GOG only relented recently.

Glad you mentioned this - companies that do this kind of crap should not be tolerated, and should be called out at every opportunity. I will definitely never buy anything from these pricks, even if their upcoming original creation is actually any good.
They are probably going to blame your list on transphobia or whatever, or claim it is a gamergate attack on them.

This company is a joke: http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/david-gaider-leaves-beamdog.120360/
Precisely two years after joining Beamdog as Creative Director, David Gaider has abruptly left the studio without having produced a single title during his tenure. His departure was announced on Beamdog's company blog
GOG is on my shitlist now for listening to the demands of such insignificant firm.
Beamdog hasn't produced one positive thing in their history. And I say that as someone who followed them since they were a store and even had their client installed at one time.

LOL yeah I read this too the other day. Their corporate-speak on their blog is as awful as always. I'm sure Beamdog's five fans will dearly miss Gaider for all the stuff he didn't do while at Beamdog.

GOG took the easy option on this one - they're supposed to be one of the last bastions of decency against this kind of crap. On top of that, it's doubtful their sales would have been hurt if BD ditched them (assuming they would in the first place, considering how greedy BD they are).

I guess BD just has really good spinners on staff? Which would make sense, since they haven't gone under yet, so it stands to reason they must have SOMEONE with some kind of skills on staff - and they have proven themselves to be manipulative assholes.

Of course, this enhanced edition. Here we´ve got great interface improvements. Sadly, the other ones are still lacking these, which holds me back from playing them. On top of that I haven´t heard of anything they´ve added on here which would make the game worse. So we´ve got one positive thing (interface), the general positive tech-rework (CPU-usage and fluent scrolling) and nothing bad → Positive thing in Beamdogs´ History!

They added some bugs in this version when it first came out, which weren't in the original - I assume they've been fixed by now, though I know they took their time with patches.

Not sure if any of them were game-breaking, but they were annoying (that chick in the bar disappearing after you rescue her wizard lover being one of them).

Here is some (new?) information regarding this topic: http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/beamdogs-planescape-torment-enhanced-edition.114375/page-85#post-5508872

In short: It doesn´t look like Beamdog is allowed to use the BlackIsleLogo. End of story, nothing sinister in there.

lol
"As far as I'm aware" means he knows shit. And anyone with half a brain knows it's not the truth, why would Black Isle (which still belongs to Interplay) forbid Beamdog to use it if it was free advertisement? Doesn't make sense at all. Beamdog are scumbags who take credit for something they haven't done - end of story.

Also writing "(new?)" when anyone can see it's a post from Feb. 28...
