I might cancel my pre-order of Witcher 3. But then again, I guess they can't release updates to their own game later than they would on steam?
For new games I recommend buying from steam. The only reason I bought from gog is because I deemed it would run faster on my mac laptop.

First time i purchased a fresh released game on GOG. Now i see - its a bad idea.
Since I have not downloaded the game yet, I just sent a mail to the support to cancel my order and get a refund.

I love GOG but I didn't know they were so slow with new releases. I know it's just a game, but there are holydays starting and I was planning to play a bit. Considering the game-breaking bugs that are out on the actual version, I wanted to start on an updated game...
GoG people, if I don't have my patch today, I kill a kitty.
I find it hard to believe some of you are whining about having to wait a few days for a patch.

The fact that you don't need what amounts to a spyware system to run the game far outweighs a bit of waiting.
I'm equally pissed at Obsidian for not releasing a way to update the gog version ourselves. Somehow.
What Im next concerned about is their integrating the patch in the installer. Im not keen on downloading a 7.5g file just for a patch.

Some people can't play the game because of one or another bug and I guess most have hoped to play while having holidays ...
I don't know the easter holidays for Poland, but I guess people will be pissed off, when realizing the patch comes Tuesday ...
DRM free is great and I like it that way, but GOG hasn't released Galaxy and devs are unable to push patches like they could on steam. So, the past showed: games on steam get a lot of love from devs while GOG is inferior in regards of patches.

It may surprise you, but some people could disagree with you.

I don't like DRMs in general but i'm not an ayatollah of DRM-free games either. I buy on GOG because i prefere DRM free. But if they offer a reduced service compared to Steam for the same price, I will return to Steam.

GOG is *not* inferior. When will people get it into their heads that GOG releases patches the moment they are given them. If developers pander to Steam it is not GOG's fault. Go and cry to the devs, and stop blaming GOG.

They've said they're working on a stand-alone patcher, but it will take them a couple of weeks. I'm guessing they wanted to get to work on the bug-fixes first ;-)

GOG QA should not be more then 10-15min!, if they need more the system is heavy bugged...
by now they should have 24/7 support!, it has nothing to do with holiday bullshit or anything else... work can be done from home and work ppl could be hired from other side of globe!

No excuse
Sent an email to gogs support to give us an update in this thread. Let's wait and see, although I guess you could also contact them to show that we'd like to have the patch ASAP.
