So does anyone know if there's gonna be a Linux version like their previous game?

Linux support for Pathfinder Kingmaker was great. I'm hoping that they are using the same engine and this will work similarly good. But I'm not pre-ordering until I know more about the state of Linux support.
I am not going to post pictures - everybody can open the pages themselves - but for Kingmaker the system requirements include this: " Works on: Windows (7, 8, 10), Linux (Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04), Mac OS X (10.11+) ".

And for Wrath of the Righteous - this: " Works on: Windows (7, 10), Mac OS X (10.11+) ".

I think it answers the question.

Damnit. Was sooo looking forward to this game, saw the banner on the main page, and soon got reminded that they don't plan to support Linux this time :(

Means I can't support them either.

Me too, I was hoping it would maybe come later down the line, guess we only need to wait and see if it does come down the line.

It's a little early to say goodbye to "Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous".
There's a good chance we'll get it, but we'll have to wait.

2 054 339 $ - 300 000 $ = 1 754 339 $ to make a Linux version.

DaiKaiser, I have a question can you please send me a PM.

Which means, no preorder. "A good chance" is meaningless. None of the links you gave had any statement from OwlCat themselves regarding a Linux port, other than "only if we feel like it'. Which they apparently don't, at this time. Even a promise by a developer/publisher isn't a guarantee: I'll believe it when I see it. I've been burned by such promises before, although given the decent track record with Kingmaker, I'm willing to take their word for it if they actually make a statement themselves.

or whatever else they want to spend the money on. For example, console ports, localization/voices, sport cars, etc.

Given my satisfaction with Kingmaker, I was really looking forward to this game. I'm insane enough to spend $100 on a game that I haven't even seen yet, but not if it's just going to just occupy storage space until Linux support and/or Wine support appears (which I've done for several games now, and it just pisses me off when the games become cheaper while I continue to not be able to play them). I'm just glad I'm not really all that interested in the pre-order bonuses.

I'm also tired of being counted as a Windows user, which I would be if I bought this. Yet more statistics that show Linux isn't used by anybody. I don't really see how anyone can say such things like "not enough Linux sales to justify the cost" with a straight face, given that even Steam can't keep track of that properly.

Well, it is for sure easier to say when there is no Linux version for sale in the first place ;)

Anyway, between the lack of a native Linux build, the pre-order incentives and the crazy price tag, there is not a chance that I would buy this game. Or any other by this studio.

Owlcat Games made the 1st Pathfinder for Linux.
You can notice two things about studios that promise a Linux version without doing it:
1_ It's their first game!
2_ They need our money to succeed in their kickstarter!
For those who do not want to make a Linux version, they are recognizable with the habit, and you talk about Proton, or worse they remain in silence.

Owlcat has a solid experience on Linux, they communicate on the subject, and they have the necessary money, their communiqué that does not make promises gives them time without having a pressure, all indicate that they will do so.

I admire your experience, but I have a very different experience, the developers I communicate with and who have the will to make a Linux version sometimes need testers, it also happens that they don't find the solution to a huge BUG, and they give up, because selling a Linux version that doesn't work, to a person who only has this OS, it's theft.
For almost six months, I've been testing demos, I'm also a tester on a game that will be on GOG in 2022, I also know that some games exist on Linux but because of lack of confidence the developer only sells the Windows version.

The only thing that could change Owlcat's mind, in my opinion:
Too many sales using Proton, accompanied by a new project.
Which means no profitability for Linux, and a waste of time on the next game.
Which means, no preorder. Once again, we agree!

It is also important to know that; most developers are convinced that they will not make any profit with a Linux version.
It doesn't matter if it's true or not, if they make a Linux version it's usually only for passion.
They want to see their babies running on the best system available.

PS: Battle Chasers is well released on Linux (pcgamingwiki), the developers have to make a special .sh version for GOG, and they discover it too late.
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!tu fait koiputain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :

I expect it will work fine with wine, but as I said I'll wait until there are reports on this.

honored by your request I have accepted it, but we still can't communicate, change your settings here:

Well, I was about to buy the Mythic edition (loved Kingmaker), then noticed there was no native Linux version...

Guess I'll have to wait. Or pass completely :-(
I supported their 2nd kickstarter on the understanding that there would be a Linux version of this game. I will not make that mistake again since it's apparent they are willing to drop campaign promises. This is the last kickstarter of theirs I support. I suggest Linux supporters do not do any prepurchases so you don't get burned like I did. Really disappointe din Owlcat. I can forgive bugs (which can be fixed) but to basically say "we know we indicated but we have our money so it's no longer a priority" gives an unfavorable picture on the integrity of the developers, especially since they did this on the 1st version (when they were looking capture maximum supporter base)

I was going to support it as well, but held back due to the more flimsy Linux wording this time. Has there been any word from them about the topic? I'm extremely disappointed they dropped Linux support for this game. Loved the first one and would really like to play this one too, but without a Linux version it's a no-go. It worked perfectly the last time :(
