Anyone getting this issue? Every time I try to exit the game, I'm hit with this error. I've tried a clean Windows boot, and launching and closing this game but I still get the error.

Hi there!

Getting back to your issue, I did some research about it. It seems this issue is most probably due to interference by 3rd party software like antiviruses etc.

Also try disabling software like Fraps, MSI Afterburner, Geforce Experience or SweetFX. Some other problematic software would be gdipp, MacType, d3dgear, amBX. Hope this helps!

I took care of all this with a clean boot of Windows. I even uninstalled my antivirus. Still getting the error whenever I quit the game. My bet is on something to do with Unity or some dll it's calling to either free up or access memory.

Maybe GoG Galaxy overlay? Or installation path? Did you install the game to Program files folder?

I disabled the overlay. I've installed it to a seperate Games folder on my C: drive which is an SSD. When I first got the game, I installed it on my secondary HDD. I was still getting this same issue then.
I´ve got the exact same problem. Since release i got hit with this issue and i cannot believe that some third party software could cause the programm since it´s the only game on my pc with this problem. Just i wanted to ask, is there any viable solution found yet?

Just for information im still having win 7 OS maybe it is a difference between win 10 and 7 with this issue.

I haven't found a solution for this yet. I still get the error on close but since the initial loading isn't as long as it used to, I'm just dealing with it at this point. I still believe it has something to do with Unity since I've launched the game after a clean boot of Windows where no additional services were running and I still got the error.
Hello!

Strange question: do you have Citrix installed? Or maybe other software that provides virtual graphics adapter?

Hi! Is very nice to have you here answering and trying to help! :D

Sorry because i know question was not for me but i bought the game yesterday and i have the exact same problem since the first time i ran it.

I also have the same event name and the same fault module name ( also just when i close the game.

Running game at 1920x1080 fullscreen (exclusive) with a GTX 980, Win7 64 home premium.

No, i do not have Citrix installed or any other app that installs a virtual graphics adapter.

After doing a search about the error and after knowing that is more generic that it seems (in Windows), i found that the difference is the app you run and the module that gives the error.

Other games suffering from this problem (not for me, but with enough reports to be significative): Dragon Age Inquisition, Mass Effect Andromeda, Destiny, Overwatch, GTA 5, Shadow of Mordor, Killing Floor 2...as well with a lot of apps like Photoshop, Chrome, Sony Vegas...and Unity! (i mean, the main unity.exe when you try to compile a project)

Also, i have found different "solutions":

1-Change Windows DEP to off :S
2-Add exclusion to firewall
3-Add exclusion to AV or disable the real time protection/completely turn off the antivirus
4-Update graphics driver
5-Check for hard disk errors or RAM errors
6-Check for viruses...
7-Run game as administrator
8-Run game with compatibility to Windows 7 (even if you have Win7!)
9-Run game windowed
10-Force game running with DX10 (if possible)
11-Uninstall, delete registry entries and install all again... :S
12-Verify that you have all redistributables needed by the app/game.

I have noticed that a lot of answers from techs were that error is about security, data injection when exe runs or corrupted drivers/data, but it seems so generic that the only thing in common in each case is the app you are running and that gives the error.

In my case, i have tried:

2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

11 is NA as my install is clean and new, from yesterday. Not sure if i'm going to try 1, i have a hard feeling that it will not solve anything. About 12, i suppose GOG's installer takes care of that and if something was needed, i probably already had it in my system.

As Output_log is truncated when you close, there's also no valid info there (mine is equal to the OP's log except with my own system specs, ofc)

Except for completly disabling Gforce Experience (ie start system with all the services from it stopped) i have run out of ideas at this point, and i think i'm just going to play and forget about it and see if anyone finds a fix specific for Pathfinder.

Apart from that error that prevents output_log to be written, game is working perfectly, i can save and load (or continue) and have not found any other problem so i can play it. At least, the error is not on startup... :S

If you have any other question that you think can give a clue about what's happening, please, ask me. For now, i will stop

Thank you very much for your interest and help!

PS: sorry OP for using your post to add my problems but as a developer is here and i have the same problem as you...

Hello!

There are reports (at least for GTAV) that OSD software like MSI Afterburner/Rivatuner, Fraps, Geforce Experience cause this problem. Usually disabling the OSD functionality is enough. Some other soft that can cause the issue: gdipp, MacType, d3dgear, amBX.

Ups, sorry i did not read your answer :S

Unfortunately, nothing solved my problem. I finally tried to disable the geforce experience (i even changed the service to manual and tried with it stopped but no luck)

I don't use any of the other programs, maybe there's another i did not find. In any case, game is working, and perhaps problem will solve itself in a future patch.

Thank you very much!!
