I loved the music too and if you just Google for PC Abandonware sites you'll find the downloadable soundtrack, I just found it but I don't think I can post the link here ;-)
Anyway being the owner of the original game in the '90s plus now the GOG version I guess we are endorsed to own the official soundtrack! :-)
Maybe we should point GoG in the right direction xD
You can find all CD tracks (converted to MP3) in game folder after installation.

Just so you all are aware, I contacted Burke Trieschmann, the composer, and this is what he had to say (slightly edited):

"I appreciate your email and am glad you are a fan of Pandemonium and its music. I have been asked this question before, and as you correctly surmised, I do not have the rights to the music that I created and composed for the game. For Pandemonium its even more interesting in that the music was all composed as sequenced midi files/ chip music that get triggered by samples in the PS II game engine's, so the only audio demos are from folks who have recorded the out put of the game.

If there is critical interest, I would consider tracking down the rights or re orchestrating the original songs, but it would be a lot of work and sleuthing to figure out who I would need to negotiate the rights back from. "

I replied with a few more questions and he sent this, also:

"Original music loops were between 1:00 and 3:00 max and did loop in game. I think for Pandi II the PC version used mp3's that faded in and out.

I'll give the original designer another call and see who owns the rights now. It was designed by Toys For Bob, Originally for Crystal Dynamics, which then became part of Eidos. Not sure where its at now.

Since there are many sites that post these illegally, the game music is not too hard to track down for one's own enjoyment. I'll check out some of your links and the GOG thread when I have some time. Maybe even post something in the forum.

I would probably have to go back to the original midi files and re create the Pandi 1 music from scratch, and since the technology, computers and samplers that I used back then have changed so much, I doubt I could make it sound exactly the same.

Keep me posted if there is more interest and always glad to hear what people think of the music."

So if anybody's still interested, consider emailing Mr. Trieschmann at burket@aol.com

It's odd that he would say that. The music in my version (PC) is encoded on the CD, so I ripped it to a lossless format. It doesn't sound at all like MIDI/chiptune, but much higher quality.

The music DEFINITELY sounds more "midi-like" on the PSX version of the game. I have the original game for PC and the music sounds superior than that version (the tracks are normal CD tracks, playable on any CD player). It would be lovely if GOG included the wonderful music created by mr. Trieschmann as a bonus.
