Compared to Steam the GOG version is behind with one build. On GOG Oniken is at its initial release v.1.0UE while on Steam it is v.1.1UE.

That update fix the achievement bug the game has on certain achievements. The GOG version's build in achievement or "bounty" tracker as the game call it isn't working fully. The kill achievements for example can not be unlocked.

I would love to see that update comming here.
I tweeted your request to JoyMasher. I hope they answer it.

Thank you for trying, I hope so as well. I've tried e-mailing them directly about a month ago but unfortunately there was no answer yet. Anyway the Itch.io release is on 1.1UE as well and DRM free naturally, it was cheap so I bought the game there. Maybe it helps them developing their new game they call Moonrider. It looks promising.
They answered.

That is definitelly good. Looks like e-mail is too retro for today's business lol.

I'll post here since I encountered something weird myself just now.

I had played the game before and got to mission 4.

Today I mapped a new controller to the game, and I discovered I still had some bounties, but my progress and options were reverted, and I don't remember clicking anything other than "Remap" on the controls tab.
The first ones about killing en emies are gone, but the secrets and no deaths I had won are here... Weird.

Did this happen to anyone?

EDIT: OK it's weird, I think I have found why, something is borked with the settings.
I have two 8bitdo controllers, a SN30 Pro2 and a M30 Bluetooth.
If I remap the controls to one different from the last one I used, it wipes the Mission select screen and the high scores.
I'll try contacting Joymasher.

Now I tweeted the personal profile of a dev. He answered he thought the version on GOG was the same from Steam. He also said he'll take a look.

Muito obrigado.
UPDATE: I think I found one source of my problem (level progression wipe), the game seems to do like a backup and profile wipe based on the controller profile, my M30 is set to DInput for easier configuration with the old Tomb Raider games (namely II-IV/V), buy my SN30 Pro2 is always set to XInput, I wonder if that could play.

Anyone got feedback from JoyMasher?

No, but I bought the game on Itch.io which is the up to date DRM free version. There is no problem in that release regarding the controller or achievements. It is something like $5 and doesn't even have to install so no writing in system registry.

No problem. I prefer GOG over everything else because the DRM free aspect, but honestly Itch.io is a level above because it is DRM free and it provide the games in simple archived format instead of an installer.

Yeah I get thaat, especially when support for a game dies here or is severely lagging, you start looking for alternatives, I'd just like it if itch allowed a "cart" system like when you want to purchase several things from a single maker, outsidfe of bundles I mean, I don't like having to oay for each item individually when I can.

I agree. No site is perfect but at least we can get the perfect version of each softwares if we have multiple alternatives for online stores lol.
