Steam projects a release date of "Q2 2022" for Old World. I assume there's an exclusivity agreement with Epic Games.

But it's hard to imagine that it's going to release on GoG before it releases on Steam. Q2 2022 is not "coming soon", except in the sense that it's faster than Hollow Knight: Silksong. What's up with the messaging?

Was released May 5th on EGS, so I'd expect around May 2022.

Great, but the question I asked was "why is this game listed as 'coming soon' when it isn't coming soon?", not "when is this game coming out?"

Because gog is lazy and they put coming soon on literally every game that's not released yet.
Only time I ever see an actual date is for games that have an official release date + preorder.

I only put the date here because I went and looked it up, so when other people browse here they have a general idea and don't have to waste their life looking it up.
I just read on Steam, that it will be released there at May 19th. Don't know if that's the date for gog, too, but I hope so.

Only thing we use Ste*m for is product reviews, of which there are many, some quite comprehensive, and therefore useful in making a purchase decision. Employing due diligence before "pulling the trigger" minimizes buyers remorse. Good things do come to those who patiently bide their time. ((;--))

Product reviews can also be done here on GOG. And reviews on steam are often biased and some are even not a review. I don't take those reviews over there as an example for making a deciscion if i should buy a game or not. I rather use in-game footage for inspirration. I use both Steam and GoG. Some games i have on steam aren't here on gog and it doesn't look like that will change any time soon.

The simple fact of the matter is that for "some" progs here, there are distressingly few reviews posted, making it dicey to get a good read on the product. As for St*am, there are, in some cases, many reviews on a product, some quite comprehensive and knowledgeable. Like any good farmer, ya gotta separate the "wheat" from the "chaff." The product forum discussions here can be quite helpful as well. We just wait for things to come to us, sometimes weeks, months, or years. When the discount gets large enough for a good product, we begin to get interested.
Not long now, must be only hours away. Been excited about this game for a while now.

Happy this is on Gog, much appreciated.

The developers have just posted on Twitter that the game is due to be released here on GOG at 12pm CET and apologised for the delayed release.

So it should be online here in the next 60 minutes, I'm very excited.
Looks very promising. In my Wishlist for now. TBS strategy games ( historical, Fantasy) are my favorites.I’ll wait till more reviews are posted. In the meantime I’ll keep playing the venerable WARLORDS III DLR. We’ll see if this game comes even close to it.

They have been posted on Ste*m already.
