Hi everybody,
I wanted to ask if this game doesn't support Windows Vista at all?

According to the Steam forum, it doesnt start on Vista. Or runs horribly bad. The poster was not very specific about his problems, only that he has Vista and that he should have read the system requirements before purchase :)

I tried the Steam version on Vista and it showed an error about requiring Windows 7. The GOG.com version is probably the same.
Ok, then I'll not buy the game. Thanks for the help guys!
It's very strange that this game needs 7/8: its system requirements are very low (1.7ghz dual core, 1GB ram, 256MB VRAM). The game is just coded to refuse to run on anything but 7/8; Vista and 7 are so similar that I've never ever known of a case where anything can run on one but not the other.

It's really disappointing in any case, and inexplicable that the devs haven't commented or explained it at all.

(Also someone on the Steam forum claims to have run an earlier build fine in 32-bit Vista, confirming that it's just coded not to work on pre-7 OSes for some reason.)

That was me. The pre-release build I tried didn't do this check. There are really not many gaming-related compatibility differences between a fully updated Vista and 7 apart from some late additions to Windows 7 like DirectX 11.1 (this game is only DirectX 10 anyway).

I could see having an artificial check like this for Windows XP (where a DirectX 10 game would otherwise show a less helpful error message), but not Vista.

I really can't imagine why they'd do this- it's not like Microsoft would pay them to make their game exclusive to an OS that's already outdated and superseded. Maybe they did it as a lazy alternative to covering up a bug that happens in Vista but not 7?
If u know how to hex-edit ,it might be poss to get it running on xp.
But if uses win7 directx it might be pointless.
