Socratatus: I love the flying mod, don`t so much like the water part of it, but it is excellent anyway.

Fast actions? What does that do? Does it cut out the watse of time stuff the game insists on shving us, like floating away or going to cinema screens whenever you do something?
avatar
Trudgen: If only it got rid of the cinema screens, when i hear that sound i cringe everytime. No Fast Actions gets rid of the tedious holding e for most actions to just a click. It wasn't intill i used it that i truely grasped how much time i was wasting. enjoyment level +.
Thanks, i`ll have a look.

Trudgen: what you got a against going under water!? ;P impractical but its a nice gimmick. Have you flown through a underwater cave? got try it once!
It`s just that it`s not` immersive` enough, lol, pardon the pun. When you dive there`s no splash from your ship and the water effect is only on your visor when it should actually be on your ship`s cockpit which is like going in with your cockpit hood open. No big deal for some, but it just feels like I`m doing something the game wasn`t designed for. Flying is different because you can tell it was previously designed for that.

Maybe the Devs will fix flying underwtaer to feel more like a ship underwater, not you surrounded by a ship.

cgaynor: No matter what I try I cannot get any of the mods to work with my GOG version of NMS. I follow all instructions provided, yet no changes occur when i load. I have a friend with a Steam copy of NMS who has no issues, but for some reason the GOG version won't run the mods. Anyone else have this issue?

Trudgen: I've no problems part from the NoHud mod. using latest patch 1289496. what mods are you trying to install?
I figured it out... apparently i had 2 copies of NMS installed... one under GOG Galaxy and a non-Galaxy version. I get all mods besides the NoHud mod to work properly now as well.

Never mind, saw you fixed it

YES!!!! I was so hoping for a mod that makes space look more "realistic". Along comes Immersive Space mod and does EXACTLY what I want. Thanks to all those modding geniuses.

I may have to try this. I don`t like the super colourful space either (although, if you look at astronomy, there are some pretty colourful areas of space).

I did come out into a really black area of space in one system in the default game and it did look a lot better.
Just tried it last night and it looks amazing! So much better IMO. Sometimes, when you are on the night side of lanets now and you see other planets in the sky, it can look a bit wonky but other than that, it's really working super well. Way better than vanilla IMO.
I bpought No Man's Sky before I realized it doesn't support Intel display chipsets. Is there any plan to either supply a mod for this or a patch to support the Intel display adapter?

If no love, I'll have to ask for a refund.

For those of us who have multiple family members using the same copy on a single PC, NMS Launcher simplifies the whole process of dealing with multiple journeys. No more chance of overwriting your spouse's game! (Available at nexusmods & nomansskymods.)

I`ve got to try this!

Now I have two Mods, I`ll try to keep it down to that.
It still has some pop-in, just not as much, and it increases the performance hit as you would expect with having to render all that big foilage, BUT it creates some seriously great looking views! So one mod that will keep getting better and better i expect :)

Oh and rather HUGE modding news, we can now access ALL the game files:
It's finally been done, all of the games 468 main MBIN templates are now fully supported (93 primary templates, 375 sub templates), at this point the game is pretty much fully moddable :)

( i should add this to the OP)
Thought I would share one of my favorite mods. This one lets you save any location and then "jump" back there whenever you want. Great for when you need some nickle, but Nickle World was a few jumps back and doesn't show on the star map.

Enjoy.
