Just purchased this game via the GOG sale and was looking around for a widescreen fix. This seems to be what I'm looking for:

I couldn't find the original file in that thread, but in page 2 there's this link that works:

I used that and it works, it has many many options, but no FoV that i can see.

My only problem is I can't enable V-sync so i play windowed mode to avoid awful tearing

EDIT: Regarding the screen-tearing, have you tried using your video card settings to make an entry for Nexus and force Wait for Vertical Refresh, that might help.

I tried forcing Vsync through the ATI CCC to be always on regardless of application settings but it didn't seem to work. Maybe I should try to make a setting specific for Nexus...

I am also developing a mod that makes the game look better in widescreen and fixes some stretching that occurs when playing in widescreen. As well as improving the look of the background starfields drastically and other small HD improvements. Currently it is only for 16:9 resolutions such as 720, 1080p 2560x1440, etc. But I plan to release a 16:10 version as well.

I recommend anyone playing this game in widesceen downloads this mod. As it only seeks to improve the look of the game.

Unfortunately this doesn't fix the briefings but I am looking into how difficult that might be to fix.

Or you could simply update your game. ;) Support for modern screen resolutions was added over a year ago.
