I used to play neverwinter nights a lot with the diamond cd version but it would crash on me quite a bit, forcing me to lose 1 gig of memory each time it crashed. Will the game crash with the gog version of it? What is the difference between that and the cd? I really like the game and would like to complete it but dont want to lose my computer if it doesnt work properly. If anyone knows what the difference is i'd like to know.
Alright i just downloaded the game to see if it would work. Right when i downloaded it it already has come up with "The setup files are corrupt, please download a new copy of the game". Can someone please give me an idea of what to do with this.

You need to download all 3 files (one .exe, two .bin) and have all three in the same folder before you run the setup.

deathknight1728: One more question, does this folder have to be made up in gog.com folder or should i put it somewhere else?
If you're running Vista or Windows 7 it's often less hassle to install games outside of Program Files
I just put it in my documents and the same error message is coming up. I think the game is glitched, there isnt even instructions on how to install it.

There must be a patch that will fix this.

Check the file sizes to make sure they're correct.

And you can check the support page to see if it's mentioned.

14) Finally, make sure that your system files aren't corrupted by using the System File Checker application.
To launch it, click Start -> Run (or click the text field in Vista/7), type in: SFC /scannow and press Enter. You may be prompted to insert the Windows installation CD/DVD.

I cant figure out how to do that. Im not that computer savvy and it isnt specific. There isnt a run button on windows vista. This has to be the problem though.
I just got it to run but it shows up and then disappears. Is that what it is supposed to do?

Edit-Had the wrong one. I just started it in command prompt. Do you know what i do if it is corrupted, it didnt say.

I just ran the check and it says nothing is wrong. I cant figure this out at all. Im running as administrator, i put the 3 files in a folder i made in my documents. I followed the support of what to do too. What else could be causing this?

Check the names of the 3 files and make sure they're called

setup_nwn_diamond.exe
setup_nwn_diamond-1.bin
setup_nwn_diamond-2.bin
Vista?

Turn off UAC (User Account Control).

If all that doesn't work order a new computer with Windows XP on it....or win7 might work for the game also....
I dont know what i just did, but i got it to work. You were all very helpful with this and your patience is appreciated :)
