Okay, I'm having problems with NWN, as stated in the topic title.

I have nwn.exe in compatibility with Windows XP SP2 (because SP3 was giving me the same problem), and it runs as an administrator.

Now, what happens is, the pop-up menu (the one with the buttons: "Play," "Toolset," etc.), does not appear when I run the nwn.exe file. It also puts Win7 into basic mode, but when I go to the Task Manager and kill nwn.exe from running, Win7 does not get out of basic mode.

Now, if I run nwn.exe again without restarting my computer or anything, THEN the pop-up menu appears. Very strange.

If I run nwmain.exe in compatibility mode with XP SP3, and as admin, that loads just fine into NWN without any problems: Win7 doesn't go into basic mode, and NWN runs the first time I run nwmain.exe.

I have an Nvida GeForce GT 555M. Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, there's an Intel graphics card as well (this is a computer that swaps between graphic cards if I trigger a switch), but I have the switch triggered to use the Nvida card. Also, my settings say its using the Nvida.

Any clues as to why nwn.exe is acting so strange and nwmain.exe is not?

Edit: Nevermind. It works now, I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I dunno what fixed it, though. Maybe it's because I didn't mess with the config...

Though, I wonder why it did that on the first install and not on the second. Any ideas?

It's not your card, I have an ATI card and the config box always makes my desktop go into basic mode, even the old CD version of Diamond (non-GOG) did the same thing. It's never crashed me or anything.
