Since I bought a new graphic card I've been experiencing a few problems. First the game wouldn't start, renaming the executable did the trick. Then I had to disable environmental mapping on creatures or characters wouldn't be visible.

Now, in the snowy environments, most of the ground textures are missing, resulting in the very confusing mess you can see in the attached image. Is there any workaround to this?

Do you have the latest GPU drivers? If no, try updating them.

Also, enable Catalyst AI, maybe this will help you.

I'm probably way off base but did you ensure that the old card drivers and other files for that card are completely removed from your system. As I recall, uninstall programs don't always completely remove all files.
Try AMD Catalyst 13.4 or older, that do help for some older games.

I do. Actually I had to format my entire PC for an unrelated problem a few weeks ago and the problem still stands.

For some reason I just can't find that in "3D Application Settings". I did make sure the drivers are updated as well.

Attached is what that tab looks like on my system.

I just noticed that if I bring texture quality down to compatibility mode I can see the terrain again (every other texture works normally at the highest quality though).

Yeah, it is now just Surface format Optimization.

Oh, then it was on all along.

Is there anything in particular that winter texture has at higher quality settings that other textures don't have? It's the one called Frozen Wastes in aurora.

No idea about this, sorry.
