My friends and I have decided to start playing Neverwinter Nights again. We all find ourselves reentering the game into our now Windows 7 computers to once again adventure in one of our favorite games. SInce I still have an old laptop that runs XP I decided to put Neverwinter nights into it, I figured one of our friends who has never played NWN could use it, I have four copies after all. Unfortunately the CD drive on that laptop isn't working then I found this sight. For $4.99 it seemed easier than repairing that old laptop.

Long story short I was able to install the game, but it would freeze up after the Atari logo disappeared. I was able to fix that and get to the game by entering DisableIntroMovies = 1 in the nwplayer, ini and nwn.ini; or it was setting safemovie = 1 in the ini file. I did both at the same tiem so I am not sure which worked.

My question is did I turn off all the movies between chapters? If I did not how do I do that? I have this fear that my old laptop cannot handle the movies, but play the game and as we finish the intro chapter and move to chapter One my friend, using my old laptop will lock up and freeze. I really do not want to spend the rest of the night trying to get that laptop running again. My friend has no computer skill at all and would expect me to help.

any help will be appericated.
I THINK, though I'm not sure and can't test right now, that you can simply remove/rename the "movies" folder and it will skip since there's no movie to play. There's a "movies" button in main menu, you can test if they play or not with that one?
