Greetings to all

I have concern about the Nwn Premium Modules which were downloaded from this website:
https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/module/bioware-premium-modules

I received Nwn for free when I pre-orderd Witcher 3.

Those modules which can be downloaded from GoG work greatly.

But Pirates of the Swordcoast, Daggerford, & Wyvern Crown, downloaded from the above Nwn Vault, require authentication.

Must I give more time for the authentication or nothing else can help?

Thank you for your time & assistance

Just follow this thread together with the tools delivered via the download page, and I think you might be good (check after install of the other premium modules you mentioned for other ini-files. IIRC shall still work with the above solution.

I admit I have never tried myself for the premium modules, but I guess it is similar like this.

The problem is that the Pre-Modules don't have a cd-key. It appears that its just stuck in the authentication mode.
No problem. I could find a solution later. At least I finally won Nwn *fully*.

If nobody answers (couldn't find anything via my google-fo) I might give it a shot on the weekend.

But I didn't read anything about that those modules would need another key. It sounded like the same procedure as with the other premium modules we received...just a sec!

EDIT:

Just checked registry, nope no entry for anything like that what I thought......

So it shall be just in one of the ini files.....
check which ones have been changed (sort by date) and have a look through those....

I could give this a try

But I'd hoped to find a better solution

I think the problem you are running into is that the premium modules from Bioware required online authentication that is no longer operating. There is a workaround posted for download on the Neverwinter Vault:

https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/premium-module-offline-authenticator-generator

When this is run, it will generate a small file that goes in the "premium" folder to allow the chosen premium module to run without the defunct online authentication. I haven't used this recently, but it worked fine for me in the past with 'Pirates of the Sword Coast' and 'Infinite Dungeons'.

Best wishes.
Yep, what was said as well just in different words in my first post, but that is it....

Oh don't use galaxy for this, the good old fashionable way!!!!! just saying! ;)
Before I install that generator,

Just in case.

Technically those premium modules aren't part of the package that GOG sells. They were separate added cost options.

You can search the internet on how to activate them, but technically it's piracy, so you can't expect GOG support to help you with that.

Yes I agree

Maybe GoG will some day add other modules to their store

There was some discussion of this issue on the Vault before the offline authenticator was posted. At this point even copies that were purchased from Bioware require a workaround for the authentication process in order to run, other than versions bundled with NWN Diamond/Platinum or (so I read, never owned) the Kingmaker boxed set.

I can't speak to the copyright status of the premium modules themselves. There are apparently still working download links from Bioware, but whether that is by design or oversight I don't know.

I doubt that. Atari asked Bioware to stop selling Premium Modules not long after EA purchased Bioware. That was like 2008 or 2009. Bioware complied immediately and the Premium Modules were pulled from the Bioware site.

The distribution rights are probably still with Atari who probably will never do anything with them, but that doesn't mean they couldn't sue someone who tried to distribute them.

You must mean Pirates of the Swordcoast, Infinite Dungeons, & Wyvern Crown, as Darkness over Daggerford does not require authentication. It was never sold officially, but released for free and can be downloaded here.

Anyway, you already know the workaround to authentication, and that using it for playing Premium modules you never paid for isn't exactly legal, but to be honest, even though these official Premium modules are nice enough, they actually pale in comparison to many of the community-created modules you can legally download for free, starting with e.g. The Aielund Saga.
