Hey folks,

I am planning on playing NWN Diamond (via GoG.com) on my Macbook. I'm aware that the GoG version is the Windows version, not Mac. However, unanimous reports on the interwebs suggest that the Windows version is superior on a Mac even to the Mac version (this is due to the old IBM processors in Macs compared to new Intel chips).

QUESTION:
Does anyone know how to set up NWN Diamond (GoG version) on Mac OS X through a WINE emulator, such as PlayOnMac or Crossover? And if so, (and most importantly), can it be played MULTIPLAYER?

If not, question #2: Will running the game in Parallels cripple the performance too much? And ill Parallels/virtual machine software allow multiplayer?

Note: I have Boot Camp, and I have a native installation of Windows on my MacBook. Worst-case-scenario, I can boot out of OS X and boot into WinXP to play. However, this is awful--hence my search for a native OS X solution (using the Windows version of NWN).

Any tips on running NWN via PlayOnMac specifically for multiplayer?

Thanks!

I run the game with CXG and it runs perfect and the installation it's as easy as 1 2 3 but there is a problem you will encounter which I forgot the fix. Videos don't run, only audio for the cut-scenes, but if you do a little research you can find a patch and its instructions that will make it work. I remember finding the solution and the link to the patch on the Bioware's forum.

About multiplayer, I'm sorry I haven't tried it, I'm a single player kind of guy.

CXG is Crossover Games, both 9.2 and 10 works with NWN.
/bump

I have been having this very same problem and its because there is no nwncdkey.ini to edit once GOG gives you the CD keys. I tried putting the .ini file in the gog/nwn folder but it still doesn't recognize the new keys.

Any ideas?
