I've just reached Fort Locke and picked up all the quests there. When I exit to the world map to the north, there are only 3 locations to visit (Fort Locke, Swamp Cave and Weeping Willow Inn). Fort Locke is also marked in red for some reason.

I looked at a walkthrough and it seems a graveyard and bandit camp should be on there also? I remember Neeshka saying she could mark a bandit camp on the map.

Any ideas what I could do, or is it a bug and I need to reload an old save?

I'm having the same problem, just a bit further. I completed all Fort Locke quests (including Cave, graveyard and so on), but I can't get to new areas from anywhere.

Also (not related), I noticed that Commander Tann just acts as if we just met him, eventhough I completed his quest ("Good thing you arrived !" etc).
According to GOG support it is because you have UAC enabled.
Here is their email responce:

"From your description it seems that you have User Account Control enabled and this caused the game to not save properly. If you go to the save game directory (default: My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\saves) you can see that the save is comprised of many files, it is possible that without using the "Run as administrator" option the game wasn't able to create/update all of the files."

You will need to start a new game, going back to a earlier save probably won't be enough.

I had set all the .exe's in the game directory to "Run as Administrator" & it seemed to fix the problem.
I had no hitches until late in Act III, when it returned me to everyone forgetting they had met me.

So I have started again from scratch (lost track of how many times) & have UAC turned off.
So far so good, but only nearing the end of Act I.

Thanks for answer.

If I get it right, I have to "run as admin" all those files :

nwn2 (already shielded)
NWN2Launcher
nwn2main
nwn2main_amdxp
nwn2scriptcompiler
nwn2server
NWN2ToolsetLauncher
ServerMonitorConsole

Then start again (d'oh !) ?

Am I forgetting one, or running an extra one ?

Another unrealted question : I have the Neverwinter nights 2 folder where I installed it (on a Games folder), but there is another one in my docs, with a lot of empty files, with the exception of saves. Why is that ?

Thanks !

Those folders are for custom modules (player-made adventures). When you have downloaded a custom module, you need to place the files into the corresponding folders (.mod into modules, .hak into hak, and so on). Some modules, however, come with a installer, so you won't have to place the files manually.
Understood, thanks !

A last question, related to this UAC : I understand the saves are corrupted, but what about the character ? Can I import it to start the adventure again with him, or do I have to create a new one as well ?

You can export the character from your old save and then choose "Select Character" when you re-start the campaign. However, I would advise against it in this case. You are getting History-feats, during the course of the campaign. Starting out with them, could have unexpected results.
Yes, you are right, I remembered that you also carry an unique item. Don't know what would happen if you have it in double, and don't want to find out :p.

Anyway, I runned as admin all the .exe listed above as advised, and so far it seems to work. I have all destinations in my World map, and people seem to remember they met me 2 minutes before.

I'll let you know of further progress if everything's okay, thanks again for replies everyone.
Thanks for the help guys, I done the admin for all .exe and started a new game.

Now I have lots of world map places, I can even go back to the starting town! :D
Well goodluck guys.
Let me know if you get right through the game.
I'm throwing in the towel. With UAC off completely I never even made it 1/2 way through act II before crossroads keep disappeared from my map.
That's it, bugs started again.

Near the end of act 1, several people acted like I just met them, eventhough I was here to complete a quest they assigned me.

Very disappointing, I don't even want to continue with this feeling you can't even be sure you'll be able to finish a quest you've been given.

I'm joining olnorton, NwN2 is over.
