Howdy!
I'm working on my very first Module for NWN2..
..but i can't get it singing.
I can make music play on an area, of course.
But i'm only limited to the default music tracks, and i can't import custom MP3s.
The only import option requires .SSF files, so i downloaded the SSFEditor from NWNVault.
It doesn't work. At all. Plus, it is designed for NWN1.
Can any of you help me?
Many Thanks,
-Amez

Hmm, A little off topic here since I do not even think that GoG sells NWN2.

Futures Questions on NWN2 would get better and faser responces at:

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/subindex/156

Anyway, To answer your question.

A .ssf file is a Sound Set File It is not a music format. SSF are a list the ResRefs of Sounds to play and a refferance into a talk table for the text that appears over the players head. The list is for the emotes in the game. thngs like "greet" , "cuss" and combat sounds. Like when they grunt in combat.

EDIT: In Biowares words.
A soundset is a set of sound files to play and associated strings to display when a creature or player
character (PC) performs certain actions or when the creature or PC reacts to certain conditions. For
example, when a PC attacks a creature, the PC may shout a battle cry, with the text of the battle cry
appearing over the PC's head and in the game's message pane. The soundset tells the game what string
to display and what sound file to play.
/ End EDIT;

To get your music to work you need to convert it into .bmu format:

MP3toBMU
An application allowing bulk conversion from/into MP3/BMU format music files.

I haven't got it installed from gog yet but I do know that the boxed version had the editor in the same directory as the game files.

DriveLeter:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\NWN2ToolsetLauncher.exe

I would suggest right clicking on the launcher shortcut and then open file location and you should see it right there
I purchased NWN2 from GOG.com (thank you for offering it by the way - my wife already hates it) The toolset does not appear anywhere in my computer as far as I can tell. Was it part of the download package? If it was how can I access it or download it again if something funky happened?

Go to C:\Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete (where you have the game installed, not My Documents) and locate the file NWN2ToolsetLauncher.exe. I have NWN2 purchased from GOG installed on my computer, and yes, the toolset is included and installed with the game.

If the file (NWN2ToolsetLauncher.exe) is missing, try reinstalling NWN2.

The installer doesn't create a shortcut, so you'll have to create your own. The toolset is found in your NWN2 installation folder, and the file is NWN2ToolsetLauncher.exe.

This link does not work and this file does not seem to be anywhere online. Does anyone have a working version of MP3toBMU?

The NWN Vault has moved from IGN. You can find it in the downloads here.
Ok Guys and Gals a big question on the tool-set. One every time I work on an area to a point that I need a break I can not open the progress I have done so far. I saved it in the Mod I am making but when I try to open again there is nothing in the folder or file.
It kinda makes me upset that all the work I done is not there.

Do I need to bake the area that I am working on prior to saving it and closing it? Or do I save it and just close it out? I fear it may be a glitch in my copy of the tool-set have anyone else had this issue?
