I'm trying to become friends with Neeshka by helping her deal with Leldon. So we agree to get Leldon's current address by going to the Moonstone Mask and talk to Ophala.

Except Ophala's dialog refuses to let me ask her about it.

I found some console commands online to re-trigger the cut scene and supposedly commands to trigger the dialog options from Ophala, but no luck so far.

NWN 2 Complete, saves were imported from the original "vanilla" NWN2 (no other issues at all so far), no mods or unofficial patches.

"Leldon's hideout is right next to the entrance to Blacklake district. Go inside and enter the first door to the right. Watch for traps. Continue through killing thugs and disarming traps. Continue until you reach the treasure room. Battle, loot, etc. You should get Leldon’s Lucky Coin here."

Maybe if you find the house yourself and pick the lock? Just saying...

Also, found this:

"The conversation w/ Neeshka that starts up after slaying Tremmel & gang sets the "neeshka1" quest to state 20:

DebugMode 1
rs ga_journal("neeshka1", 20, 1, 1, 0)
DebugMode 0

- pull down the console with ~tilde, enter the commands above ( look for "successful execution" ), close out the console and talk to Ophala ... she's got a rather roundabout way of saying things so I'm not sure if this is actually the issue. If it doesn't work try booting Neeshka from the party at the Flagon and talk to Ophala again without the horned girl (same commands above). If that still don't work i may have to ask a bunch of questions

EDIT, holy diana, i might be hallucinating again, but a whack of conditions on Ophala's primary nodes are based on a script *that doesn't exist* ( hence return FALSE ) "10c_ophala_ck( )" .. No wonder I could never get a good conversation out of 'er.

Ps. make sure Neesh is in yer party. You'll get only one chance to trigger the conversation ..... so also make a SaveGame prior to entering the commands and chatting with Ophala"

Hope that helps! :-)

Thanks for the hideout location! I'll try that approach, maybe it will complete the quest even though I haven't had the talk with Ophala.

The console command sadly doesn't seem to have any effect on Ophala's conversation at all. :(

Give it a try and report back if it works!

Have you tried this workaround?

http://forum.bioware.com/topic/151006-leldon-quest-bug-cannot-find-an-answer-to-my-quest-woes/#entry4054325

It's from the same link i gave you before, but this is the exact workaround that fixed the problem for user "Iriodus" (post #11).
Unfortunately I have encountered the same problem with Neeshkas companion quest. But now the Bioware forum are offline unfortunately, where a workaround supposedly had been posted.

I am supposed to go to talk to Ophala in the Mask Tavern to get to know the whereabouts of her ex-partner. But Ophala does not give me the respective dialogue option. I had Neeshka in my party when talking to her and have not been to the hideout or got the coin. I have tried to set the quest to 20 via console as suggested by Vythonaut but that did not change anything.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Any idea how I can trigger the right dialogue?

You said you Imported the saves? there shouldn't be a version difference but I'm forced to wonder if that's a factor.

Do you have a save from High Cliff, before reaching Neverwinter? the only other option i can think of is a new game but that's sucky advice, i wish i had a fix for you.

i know one bug that gets me every playthrough at Crossroad Keep, during the Battle at a doorway there are continuous enemies coming through and as a spellcaster i tend towards using Area Effect Spells to keep them under control but every time i use them the game won't continue and I'm forced to reload and hold back than use Khelgar & Construct to keep them back while i use Single Target Spells to get stragglers.

So my only good advice is go back to older save before entering the Merchant District for the first time or even before getting to Neverwinter, if this doesn't work than i would start a new game but i know that's gonna be annoying, some games have bugs that just really get in the way of our experience so i highly recommend having 2 saves other than Quick and Auto save as back up and a way to back track before an issue.

Thanks for your reply.

No, I did not import any saves from way back when I first played NWN2 some years ago. You refer to the person who opened this thread 2 years ago. I used that same old thread because I have the same problem, but the solution and link which had been posted here in 2015 are not accessible any more with bioware forums down. They must have taken them down sometime between 2015 and now. So I had hoped someone here might still know about that go around mentioned with the dead link. I am well aware that chances are very slim, but at least I wanted to try ;-) I started a new game after buying the game again here on the gog platform, so the transfer of saved files cannot be the reason.

I guess I do have a save prior to entering merchants quarter for the first time, but I have progressed so far since then (took me a while before I realised that the dialogue option is missing) that I rather skip the quest than going back to continue with that early save if I nobody knows of a fix. Still, I will test your idea one of the coming days if it again would lead to the broken dialogue if I take that save.

I will see if I encounter the bug you described in the crossroads keep.
I know im being a necromancer (in more than one way as you'll find out!) but the solution that was unreachable I found via the WAYBACK machine, and since this is one of the top results on google when trying to find the solution I want there to be an answer.

here's the quote:

"I am just hopping in as a scripter, i don't see a script for "BeginConversation.nss" anywhere which is why trying that gave you the error it did. However to fix it i think you need to do something like that, i assume it's part of the issue. If you want to do some research for me i can probably help you sort out a way to fix the issue. ( no real clue where the issue is as i've not played it myself in a long long time )

I do know that to begin a conversation via the rs debug command you did it correctly, however the script involved i think is ga_start_convo.nss.

The main thing i don't know is the parameters needed, or what i_raps intended ( more understanding of what each thing is supposed to be calling ).

I would guess that the following might work better, at least it will do something which I_raps intended. If it does not work you probably don't want to save it, but it might be something you can play with. It seems like neeshka is needed for this to work.

`
debugmode 1
rs ga_start_convo("neeshka","10_neeshka_atk2",0,1,1,0)
debugmode 0
`
parameters are as follows to ga_start_convo
sTarget - tag of creature you are speaking to guessing it's "neeshka"
sConversation - the conversation file name, guessing it's "10_neeshka_atk2"
bPrivateConversation - 0 or 1 whether its private
bPlayHello - 0 or 1
bIgnoreStartDistance - 0 or 1
bDisableCutsceneBars - 0 or 1

Again i am not in game, this is just educated guesses, and never have done paramters on a debug rs command. "
