Hmm, have you heard about how the Bioware forums were hacked? They disabled a lot of accounts as a precaution. I'd check your email to be sure, but you're probably going to need to create a new account. Unless you're talking about a different Bioware forum, in which case I'll shut up now.

They didn't disabled the accounts, they changed passwords. You don't have to create a new one.

That's not what the email I got said:

We recently learned that hackers gained unauthorized access to the
decade-old BioWare server system supporting the Neverwinter Nights
forums. We immediately took appropriate steps to protect our
consumers' data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the
breach. We have determined that no credit card data was compromised
from the servers, nor did we ever have or store sensitive data like
social security numbers. Our investigation shows that information
such as user names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, mailing
addresses, names, phone numbers, CD keys and birth dates from
accounts on the system may have been compromised, as well as other
information (if any) that you may have associated with this forum
account. In an abundance of caution, we have disabled your legacy
Account
. To create a new account please visit social.bioware.com.
Probably all accounts had their passwords reset, but ones they strongly suspected of being hacked like mine were disabled outright.

Yes...I am talking about the newer Bioware SOCIAL forums.

You are talking about the old "legacy" forums.

Ok, mine was different. Not a word about 'legacy account' there.

Can't you reset the password? Just checked and BSN is working normally.

There you go, then. I'm not active on either, so I just saw the "social.bioware.com" and thought it was worth a shot.

The word "Legacy" doesn't have to appear there. I was simply referring to the TERM Legacy (which I've seen used more than once for the old forums) which you can read more about in Wiki's:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legacy_system

A legacy system is an old method, technology, computer system, or application program that continues to be used, typically because it still functions for the users' needs, even though newer technology or more efficient methods of performing a task are now available.

But we can just as well call it the "old" forums or whatever...

That was my response to eon47 and his mail.
Anyway...the problem still persists for me.

I still can't log in to the Bioware SOCIAL forums.

So I am wondering if any user from there has the same problem or it could be my account.

Naturally...this COULD be a new hacker thing. As the old forums got hacked...what is stopping them from hacking the new one...?

Apparently you're not the only one, check this thread.
It seems like password resetting is down and people are locked away from their accounts.

Again...you're talking about the OLD forum....

Everything in that thread is about the OLD forum...

*sigh*

No, I'm talking about Bioware Social Network. EA handles passwords for it and currently there're problems with EA notification mail / password resetting links not being sent to people.

Dunno....I see other posting there...like Baragg 22 minutes ago.

Can someone verify if it works for them to log in to that forum or not?

...and in that case perhaps start a thread in that forum asking about my problems? (As the other thread really is meant for the old forums.)

This could also be an isolated problem on this computer. I will try at my home computer when I return home...

I'm able to log in...
When EA sent the emails out, I got one that was a notification that the hack had occurred and my EA account password had been reset.
Now, because I also had an account on the old Bioware NWN forums, it sent me an email that said basically the same thing EXCEPT it said that my legacy forum account was disabled and to create a new one on Bioware Social.
Well, I already used my EA account for Bioware Social so I went and reset the password and everything's normal now. Just tried logging in, and for me, it works.
Am I the only one that got two emails? :P I think it may have been because I had an old forum account that wasn't linked to my EA account, but registered with the same email.
Anyway, hope I helped.
