I am not sure what they send you when your request a CD-key.
But my question is where did you put the CD-Key in at.

Your CD-Keys should end up in a file called nwncdkey.ini That is in you install folder from nwn.

The file has only one section named [ CDKEY] with CDkey entries for each of the expansions.

[CDKEY]
Key1=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
Key2=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
Key3=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

As far as I know only Key1 is used for on-line play.

Is That where you placed your cd-Key?

If not check there to make sure that it is correct.
Well, at first i had replaced the whole file with the new one, its was basically a new .ini file so i figurred that would workm but it did not, then I tried to just copy key 1 from the new file to the old in replacement of the old key 1. But it still did not work.

Replace all three keys. The key you get with your original purchase is a generic key that will not work for on-line play. You need to place all three keys in your .ini file in order to be able to play on-line.

How was it not clear? You stated "with this CD key i got when i installed the game". Note the singular as opposed to plural. Note as well you said "when I installed the game"> So I'm thinking "Deos he mean the generic key issued when he got the game?"

Then when you state you removed the old key and put in then new one I figured "Okay, he meant the original generic key and now he's replaced it with one of the new keys (again, note you used the singular).

You see now how I find it not exactly clear what you've done?

I understand you're frustrated but I do take it kind of personally. I'm not a GOG employee, just another member of the GOG community like you, so I'm just trying to help a fellow gamer. I don't appreciate attitude when I'm trying to be helpful. I have 3 installations (2 retail and 1 GOG) of NWN and they all work fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is if it's not that you didn't make an error when you switched keys.

Is Arelith the only server that you're having problems with or are you not able to log into any servers at all? When does this error message pop up; when you're trying to access a server or when you try to get into multiplayer? Let's see if we can get you up and running here with a little more info.

With the cd keyS sent to me, none at all.

But, I have the same "cd key being used already in server" with multiple servers.

and you totally made that too complicated for yourself.

the official error message is "cd key authentication denied"

When was the last time you were able to log into the server - or were you ever even able to at all with the multiplayer keys GOG sent you? I know sometimes when you log off or if the server crashes, it doesn't release your keys right away, so you'll get that 'key in use' message (it's happened to me a few times). Usually it clears up within a few hours.

If those keys never worked at all, then perhaps GOG has sent you duplicates. If that's the case, I'd toss an e-mail to GOG support. If you do this, keep in mind that it's the weekend and they don't work weekends, so it will be a few days before you hear back from them.

I was never able to use the keys gog sent. So i'll definitely shoot them an email. What's the big idea sending duplicates

Well, it's not certain that's what they did, but it's a possibility. Or perhaps they have a batch of invalid keys, which would be Atari's fault (or whichever company holds the rights now). In any case, hopefully it's something easy to fix, such as a set of new keys. Unfortunately, it means you're going to have to wait a few days before you can play.

Anyhow, good luck. Hope it works out quickly for you.

I am still a little unclear here myself. When you say that you where never able to get them to work:
Did you try them on more then one server?
Only one server?

Did you try and create a new account with the New CD-Keys or just try them on servers you have already played on with the same player name?

Knowing exatly how you where trying yo use the Keys will help us narrow down the problem. With the information already give I can not narrow it down at all.

It could be bad keys from GoG. but it can just as easily be that the servers you are trying to play on have already tied your user account to the old generic set of keys. If that is the case the only people who can help you are the admins of the server.

My guess is that Arelith has the "Account validation required during Master Server down times" option turned on for the server. You can test that by trying to log onto there server using a differant player name. If you get on with the new Name, You will have to contact the people running the server to allow access to your old account.

Ok problem solved, thank you for the help. I had to make a new account. Thayt should be on the sticky or something.
The problem you had here really has nothing to do with GoG or NWN in general. It is the way the server you are playing on is set up. In order to get the CD-Key to work for the account that you already had on that server you would need to talk to the people who are running the server. Most of the servers have there own fourms. If the server you are playing on does, and does not already have information on CD-Key changes per user account, You could suggest that they post the information.
