First time buying a game from GOG and it doesn't seem to work. When I start Neverwinter Nights 2 my monitor gets all snowy and I can't even see the main screen. I can hear the music but can't see anything but a messed up display. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit, AMD HD 7879. Any help would be wonderful as I feel like I was just scammed $20.

What drivers are you on?
Try going back to 13.4, newer ones have a problem with DX9

I'm on 13.10 right now. Is there an easy way to revert or do I need to download and instal 13.4 specifically?

I think you would have to download & install.
Role back driver would probably only go back to 13.9

That's a bit melodramatic, don't you think? I can't believe this is the first time you've ever had a PC game fail to work straight away. If it is, well, lucky you I guess!

Anyway, see up the top of the screen there where it says Support? They'll help you out.

First step to try is follow the suggestions in this article:

I feel scammed because I made the consious decission to purchase an older game only because GOG mentions how their game selection has been updated or modded to work for current systems. I've bought countless games on Steam without any issues. Regarding support, I could be missing something but when I go to contact them about technical issues it doesn't actually let me contact them. It just constantly sends me to their Common tech issues page and I've done just about everything there with no change.

Example
Running in compatability mode
Running the .exe file directly
ect.

When I try to go to AMD's site for driver's for my card, they only offer me 13.9 and the beta for 13.11. Where could I find a download for an older driver?

Go to the AMD driver DL page Here. Input the info for your current system. It will take you to the page for the latest driver. In the upper right is a box with 'Helpful Links'. Bottom link in the list is 'Previous Drivers and Software'.

Ah, well now. I apologise. You didn't say you'd done any of that lot - we don't know what you've already tried unless you tell us. Regarding the feeling scammed - GOG do do their best with updating and patching games to make them work on modern systems, but it is impossible to guarantee every game to work on every system with no tinkering required.

And yes, you can contact GOG support through the support link. The 'contact them' bit is to the right of the list of common tech issues, just under the 'system requirements' section.

Something you might try though... I always had problems with running NWN1 on my old laptop, which had an ATI graphics card. I ended up having to hunt down the file atioglxx.dll from the install folder of my graphics drivers, and copy it into the installation folder for NWN. As far as I know the engine for NWN2 is pretty similar, so the same thing may work for you.
