I've been playing through the OC off and on and having a good time, but it suddenly hit me that while I've several times had to 'manage' my good/evil actions for a character, I've never seen the slightest twitch on the law/chaos axis. I played around with this a bit and sure enough my paladin can murder people in the streets and loot chests to steal from hungry families if he chooses (ironically it doesn't twitch the 'evil' meter either as long as you avoid certain situations. :P Is ther any point to the law vs. chaos axis in this game aside from the cloaks and stock alignements of monsters?

The Official Campaign does not have any horizontal alignment changes. Only vertical.

The 2 other campaigns do have both alignment changes in it.

In addition to the good/evil axis, certain classes require alignments on the lawful/chaotic axis such as Monks (lawful) or barbarians (any non-lawful). As to other impacts on gameplay, aside from equipment restrictions and interaction with NPC/Monsters, the alignment system is not an integral aspect of the game, though it is more information that can be used to enhance the gameplay experience if a module designer chooses to utilize it.
