Yep, camera is good enough when zoomed out. (And then the low polygon models don't hurt the eye as much either.)
1st person view is probably better in NWN2, actually, but it's not good enough in either.

JerakeenAbell: The camera moves vertically with the PgUp and PgDn keys and horizontally with the sideways arrow keys - not sure what the problem is there. I too play zoomed out as a rule, only zooming in if I want to click on something small near my henchman. But even zoomed out you still can get your view blocked in tight spaces, unless you go totally vertical.
Huh; good to know. Sadly, I don't think I will be revisiting NWN for a while; the lackluster plot and dance of death nonsense really made it a chore to keep replaying the same fights over and over with no real motivation, while the camera difficulties were merely irritating but not lethal.

Just playing the couple of official campaigns is like just playing the tutorial.
NWN is so much more than that. Not liking the gameplay is another thing entirely.
Really, there's awesome stuff out there, as good plots as you'll ever see in RPG's.

Again, the lackluster plot in the OC was only part of the issue; the actual gameplay itself was getting on my tits hard what with the dance of death forcing my character into a killzone on top of my general dislike of RTWP as opposed to true turn based.

Bookmarked for future reference. Nice.
Loved every second of this game. Not so much the expansion, that thing is highly overrated.
There is a Thread with a link the Never Winter Vault that has a document on The Camera in NWN2. I believe its Camera Demystified or something. It list several ways to use the Camera Settings to emulate other types of game camera settings. Here

valdaintheking: I thought that neverwinter nights shadows of undrentide wasnt very great. The whole beginning it was screaming for me to go solo and after chapter 1 Xanos died and Dorna was useless compared to my character. On top of that, the game was so linear you really couldnt go somewhere else and I am guessing that the other Neverwinter game catalog is like that.
This could have been a great game if-

-You could control at least 3 characters who are under your full control. (There were times they still didnt listen)

-It wasnt so freakishly hard. This could have been prevented with random encounters.

-This was an infinity engine game. This would have made most of the bugs less severe. The game crashed a record of 30 times in total. While Infinity engine wasnt perfect, the engine of neverwinter is so flawed its not playable in its current form.

I stopped playing when I got to Undrentide chapter 2. I didnt want to see how lame the main fight was going to be so I left the character I made. It seems like the only game systems that implemented D and D rules of 3rd edition successfully were Icewind Dale 2 and Kotor 1 and 2. And because kotor wasnt a d and d game, thats pretty bad.
I am a huge NWN fan, and personally.. I find the storyline dull.. The real fun is in the multiplayer.
