I tried all of the previously posted solutions I could find including running in admin mode and changing the FX options.

Im running Windows 7 64 bit with an ATI Radeon HD 5800

If anyone knows of anything else I can do that would be great thx!

I tried the running from NWNMain and now Im getting an error saying that it cant start the program because binkw32.dll is missing from my computer. Im going to re-install later today.
That dll file is downloadable so if it's actually the problem you'll have no troubles finding it.

Is it crashing at the opening credit splash screens? There are something like six of the damn things and they periodically cause problems when I launch the game. If I ever get off my butt I'll see how to disable them.

Before reinstalling the whole thing, you could try installing the 1.69 critical rebuild and see if that fixes it.

Thx for the tip on the critical repair. Got it to not ask for the dll file any more. However, now when I launch it from the Main it still gets to a black screen with the cursor showing the computer trying to load it in and thinking. Thats as far as that gets. Tried launching it from the original shortcut again in admin mode and that crashes instantly like before still.
I have mostly the same problem. My graphic card is ATI Radeon HD 5770. It may actually be a problem with the ATI 5000 serie. If anyone know a solution to this, please I need it too!!
Well I finally figured it out!! took a little bit from everyone but I got it! I did the critical repair and also launched from NWNmain like I was before but this time I ran it with XP service pack3 compatibility.

Thank you guys for all the help couldn't have done it without you.
