Just recently downloaded this gem of a game and just started a brand new game and I'm having a blast. The only issue is I still get quite of bit of choppy gameplay. I read another FPS thread on here as well seeming to say that the issue is with the new Nvidia drivers. I'm playing on an alienware laptop with a Geforce GT 555. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has found any other solutions to make this game run smoother. I'm already running it as admin as well as the Windows XP (SP3) and all that. It's running well enough to play but I would love to have it run perfect. I'm also having issues where my screen goes black for just sec. Not game breaking but weird. Anyways, just curious. Thanks
Have you set your CPU Affinity in the nwnplayer.ini
Client CPU Affinity=0
Specifies the CPU the game client will use on a multi-core computer. Cores are numbered from 0 to the number of cores minus 1. As of patch 1.69, a value of '-1' is treated as '0' and a value of '-2' indicates that the game should use the default affinity (if any) provided by the operating system. (Added in patch 1.67.)
If you have two video cards, do you have SLI turned on. If you do turn it off.
Yea I read about that as well but was afraid of trying it. Does it mess anything up? So I change it to -2? It's currently at 0.
Well after doing some research on the problem and then testing it out myself the issues, for me, lies in the cloaks, ranged weapons, and robes. When ever any ranged weapons would be on the screen, my FPS would drop down to around 12-15. I downloaded this override fix that someone came up with and it completely fixed that problem. I guess you can also disable the visual on cloaks in the .ini fill but robes are still a problem.
Just installed the 280.26 set of drivers for my 460 and voila, all problems with choppy framerates have gone. Anyone experiencing these issues should give the latest full series a go (not even looking at the betas).

Thought I'd share.
