meant to ask - has anyone here had any luck with NWN 2 on Linux? If so, what's the best way to go about it? I see it's on Play On Linux, but was wondering on how well it actually worked...

Thanks.

If someone send me a code for a NWN2 GOG copy, I’ll give a try to a ./play.it script for this one too ;)

Hi,

I was going to buy it from GOG - but I wasn't sure how well it would run. I think my Linux PC can handle it. I also have a Windows PC as well but not sure about that one (Intel Q43/Q45 graphics chipset).

What do you mean by 'code'?

A gift code of course ;p

oh ok - well I don't mind buying it - we can work something out.

Are you sure it will work the same as NWN1? It's a Direct X game so I think you need to run it with Wine. What do you think?

As far as I know, there is no native engine for NWN2, so the game will run through WINE. But the package building process itself won’t need it.

Hi,

OK so I'm happy to buy it - maybe send me a private message and we can work out the details...

Also - for NWN1 / Linux, have you been able to get the Kingmaker module to work? It just tells me it's trying to authenticate. There's a lot of stuff on the web about it, but it's old and from what I've gathered it's just supposed to work...

PM sent about NWN2 ;)

For Kingmaker, I’ll have a look at it when a find a bit of spare time.

By the way, I updated the scripts (just a rewrite, no changes in features) and rewrote the guide for something easier to read.

seems like the nwclientgold.tar.gz file has changed and the checksum no longer matches

I'm getting c00d8d6cdfaf2a3e7e6a58961276d434 instead of 0a059d55225fc32f905e86191d88a11f

How about no. Specifically what are you downloading it with?
Never mind. Figured it out. :P

Hi, thanks for the script, but unar seems to cause broken packages in my system "kubuntu 14.04"
, so is there a way to remove unar, i use the english version for the client, thanks.

You should check the dependencies again: the ./play.it script for the English version of Neverwinter Nights doesn’t use unar ;-)
Its only required dependencies are fakeroot and innoextract.
I solved the unar problem,. was a ppa conflict.
Worked, it appears i downloaded french files

Ok, i got the deb file, installed it, but there appears to be no desktop / menu shortcut to game, i guess the deb file is incorrect , also i have a 64 bit system, will it work?
