Anybody know why I get a message that my computer is missing d3x9-30dll (whatever that is) when I try to launch?
uhhh...make that d3dx9-30dll

Thanks Eaglesnake for posing the question and thank you Sear for the solution to fix the problem. Updating DirectX solved it for me.

Thank you for this information: it was exactly what I needed to get the game running on my machine. Funny how a machine less than a month old needed a DirectX update to play six-year-old game, but at least it's working now...
