That just fixed it for me! Thank you! I've been searching for a fix for this since I downloaded the game.
This forum needs a sticky saying "Install the 1.69 patch."

I made this in the hope it would ease some pain for people but how to ask a mod to make it sticky? nwn link list including installation guide
Another thanks here for the solution. Had to re-buy the game because I have my manual (with keys) and all the CDs...except of course the first one.

Was pretty cranky about the texture thing...this is another "please fix this" vote and a thanks to our hero (heroine?) for saving the day. :)
Bump. Joined GOG and downloaded NWN yesterday so the problem in the installer still hasn't been addressed. Wanted to say thank you to Alias for providing the link for the fix.
*shrugs* At least it's an easy fix.
Fix that Aliasalpha suggested worked for me too! Thank you!
the most confusing thing about this was that I had heard about the "install 1.69 patch" previously, but as I installed the GOG version I saw that it already was version 1.69, and thought they had fixed the issue since the original release.
Turned out they hadn't.
Just purchased, dl'd and installed today. The GOG version still has this problem!! I'm getting the patch now, and hopefully that'll clear everything up.
I never did hear back from anyone regarding the summary of missing files that I sent to help fix this issue; perhaps I will send it again.
I just bought this, the link to Bioware has since changed. After hunting 1.69 down, dl and installation of the patch I still have silver people. It's a older thread but the issue still exists.

Raisen223: don't want to sound like a whiney douche when the solution has been given but whenever i click on that link by aliasalpha it just sends me to the bioware website, can someone give me a proper link?
Linky...
This is an old post, but I wanted to clarify for anyone else reading this as I am.

This is not a problem with just the GOG edition, its a problem with the digital version. The GamersGate edition has the same issue. (Says it is 1.69, but gives Silver Surfer skins.) I have not tried any advanced modules yet, so I'm unaware if that is also a problem, but I imagine so.

The above link by Kezardin is still active as of now, as is another one on a previous page. They lead to the same file. The patch installed perfectly and fixed the issue, even on Win 7 64bit.

Also, if you are having issues with the main menu being completely black, try running in compatibility mode (Win XP service pack 2). If the movies aren't showing up, follow these directions. The .dll and disabling composition mode worked for me.

EDIT: The two fixes (for the movies and for the textures) work well independently, but installing the 1.69 patch buggered the movies again for me, and no amount of tinkering can get them working. Keep that in mind- if you want the movies to work in-game, you can't use the 1.69 patch, and vice versa. Of course, if you install the Bink viewer thingy (mentioned in the movie thread) you can watch the videos outside the game. Just minimize and watch the video, then return to the game.

Good luck fellow gamers!
