It is mentioned on the first page of the NWN "gamecard" page of GOG.

"Multiplayer notice: In order to access the multiplayer you must first enter your unique cd-key. For details please follow this link."

The link takes you directly to the specific information. Now, they could probably stick that info on the page (instead of the link), but the information is there.

ryusg7: they should automatically send out a cdkey when you buy the game, i've had it 3 weeks and just found out about this, and requested my key going on 3 days now, and my friend whom bought the game the same day that i submitted my request, has been waiting going on 3 days now too. We would like to play what we paid $$$ for....
If some of you had to wait a few days, kinda tosses my weekend out the window for multiplayer with friends. I was hoping for a simple response in a few hours, but it's been a day so far. Hoping for a key soon though...
Kind of ridiculous they didn't think to send a Key with the purchase, it's been a day for me now too since I submitted a ticket, getting a little peeved, I bought it SPECIFICALLY for the MULTIPLAYER.......
im steel waiting for my cdkeys i send the request 3 days ago.

But then they couldn't pretend that it's "DRM-free," when in fact it's just preloaded with a generic key.
I am posting here because I submitted a request for a key yesterday (when I bought the game). It has still not arrived and I am just trying to get word out so that the process will go through and I can actually start playing multiplayer.

Thanks in advance
Ah i was wondering if there was a thread with info.

Same thing as everyone else really, i have been waiting for my multiplayer CD, i got a ref number but there is no where on this site to look up tickets to check progress.

Do i just wait in the dark? Or is there any kind of SLA on this type of issue?

wait in the dark someone has to be at work so it will come sometime tomorrow
Someone may want to update the sticky or unsticky it, this is what I got from GOG support when I requested a key last night:
---
Hello, a unique key for Neverwinter Nights 2 is automatically generated on every user's account, see in "my games", under the "download game" link. Please input it in the Serial Key Changer that you can find in the Start menu.

Regards,
Natalia

While that's true - it's not the case with Neverwinter Nights 1 (that this thread is about).

And that said, why, why do I have to submit a dxdiag or hardware info to contact support about a multiplayer key, despite that, supposedly being unnecessary? I am using a Linux distro; I don't have an easy way to do the former, and while, yes I can make up nonesense or even look up all the details of my laptop for the latter I just ... don't see the point. [Using latest Opera version, java script popup tells me I have to submit the one or the other when I click 'send' on the request.]

pedroantonio: Is the game shipping with new cd-keys right now? because i bought it yesterday, installed today, I have three keys in my nwncdkey.ini, and when i tried multiplayer today, using my old account from the bioware forums, i managed to connect to a server without problems, and then i saw that the three keys where automatically registered in my bioware account.

I mean, everything worked automatically for me, so I don't know if the information in the game page in gog about requesting a cd-key for multiplayer is outdated, I just wanted to be sure...

Edit: tried with another server and now it's giving me a "your cd-key is still in use, wait 5 minutes", so it seems the shipped key was not unique. Is there a server option that checks cd-keys uniqueness?

I've requested unique keys anyway.

Edit again: I have read in the old bioware forums that the above message can be caused by gamespy...I have tried again and now i can connect to servers, so i don't understand if I have a unique key or not :S
You don't need to actually have a valid cd-key installed to log on to an existing account, only to create a new one. The registered keys are surely from your original disc version.
Hi. I have two different GOG.com accounts, both with NWN1 on them. when i tried to play LAN from two different computers, it get the "cd key in use" message. I also sent an email to the techsupport site recommended. Thanks!
Its been over 24hrs since my request and I still don't have a CD Key, why don't they automatically send it?

Unfortunately we can't offer keys automatically for NWN1 for technical reasons. Yesterday was a public holiday over here, but you should get your key within the hour. I apologize for the delay.

Edit: I see that Natalia has sent you the key 15 minutes ago. In case it's not in your inbox, please make sure to check your spam/junk folders, just in case.
