Hello all, new to the forum. I was browsing around this morning and found gog.com. Wow, what a surprise. All of thess oldies but goodies. I downloaded realmyst and iniatially was having problems getting it to run. I'm running Windows 7 64bit. The simply cure for me was changing to direct 3d hal mode. But now i'm getting just a little bit of jaggies. Is there another setting I can use to eliminate those? I have a gtx 260 @ 1900x1200. The game runs excellent just could be a tad bit better concerning the jaggies. Thanks.

Maybe force anti-aliasing on in the Nvidia control panel? I haven't played realMyst yet so I can't be sure it'll work.

You can increase the Textures Quality and apply full AA (same place where you changed to direct 3d hal)

Thanks for the suggestion. Once I've actually got into the game, how do I access the in-game settings that appear when you start for the first time. Can't seem to locate those settings.

In the game start menu folder, you should have an icon named 'Setup'. Since you're on Win7 you should probably run it as admin to make sure the changes stick (Right click > Run as Admin).

Hi,
The manual ? That's a good question. I don't think i remember ever seeing one specific to realMyst.
In any case, if you're wondering about an introduction to the game it's the same one from Myst:
"You have stumbled upon a most intriguing book: a book titled Myst. You have no idea where it came from, who wrote it, or how old it is. Its pages contain only a superbly crafted description of an island world. But it's just a book, isn't it?
As you open the book, you are startled by a picture of an island. The picture seems a little too real; in fact, the picture seems to be moving. In disbelief, you place your hand on the picture.
Suddenly...your own world dissolves into blackness, replaced with the island world the pages described. Now you're here, wherever here is, with no option but to explore..."
If it's the controls you're wondering about:
Left click - walk forward
Right click - walk backwards
Mouse - pan around
You can also use the WASD keys for movement
ESC - acess the main menu where you have a few options like Save, Load, Quit, etc.
And that's pretty much all there is to it. Now it's up to you to explore ;)
Hi, my name is Alfoil and I am totally new to GOG. I have just downloaded Uru and am bewildered as to how to find the book which accesses the manual. Or have I got that wrong? It has taken me an hour to find out how to save etc. Also, when I went to start the game again to try the save procedure I got a message on the desktop telling me the game was running and to exit before trying to download again. As far as I know it shouldn't be running. What do I do? Looking forward to your help very much. cheers, Alfoil.
Uru Chronicles.

Well I have discovered there is a manual you can print out. Its in program files in the Gog folder . ( You will also find your saves in the Uru folder there.) You can print it out. Have discovered that if you can't download your game to play, you have to reboot your computer after you have closed the game from your previous playing session. I still haven't found where to save from the actual game even though they tell you to click up the top. The game is automatically saved at points in the game if I read this correctly. Hope this has been of some help to others. cheers, Alfoil.

Go to "My Account"..."My Games". Klick on the Picture of the game you want to download. Scroll down and klick on the download link for the installer.
I'm a newbie and I just purchased Riven for my Windows 7. Where do I find the game and how
do I get it downloaded? Speak to me.
