I'm thinking about ordering Myst III and IV, but before I do, could someone tell me which version is most compatible with Windows 7? Just tell me if you need information on my computer. Thanks in advance for your help.

If it helps, I have Myst III from the 10th anniversary box set and it seems to work right out of the box in Windows 10. I haven't actually played it yet since I'm still on Riven though. But since Myst: Masterpiece edition from the same box set works fine, I don't see why Exile wouldn't.

There's also the option of running a Windows XP virtual machine and playing it through that.

Well, I bought the Myst 4 Revelations limited edition box set on Amazon 3 weeks ago, and it included Myst 4 on 2 DVDs, and Myst 3 Exile on one DVD. I installed Myst 3 and 4 on my Windows 7 64 bit machine easily, no needed to change settings, just worked, did full installs.

Myst 4 revelations plays perfectly fine out of box, there is a patch 1.03 or something and it fixes issues, I installed that no problem. Some people say you might need to change compatibility settings, but that is easy to do too.

Myst 3 Exile played fine out of box, it came already updated (1.27) on DVD, and I changed a few compatibility settings but that was easy to do like I said, and I played the full game without many issues, it just "lagged" a split second and repeated the audio every time I clicked the mouse, but it wasn't anything that bothered me really.

My DVD version had a file missing, that wouldn't play all the audio soundtrack, but, I found the file online, and it works perfectly.

So to sum it up, Exile and Revelations will run out of box on Windows 7 PC.
Thanks, guys.
