Will this 6 pack really play on Windows Vista or do I need a degree in computer science in order to make it work? I purchased a version of Heroes VI last year and the box said it was Vista compatible but I could not get it to play. This is one of the greatest games ever made. I used to play Might and Magic ii on my Apple 2GS back in the late 80's early 90's!!

Assuming you speak of Might & Magic 1-6 not HoMM, I can tell you that games 1-5 use DOSBox emulator that cause no problems under Vista and MM6 did run for me personally also without a hitch.

To be sure, you may want to look through this subforum to check if any glaring Vista issues appeared for other users. In case of running into any problems yourself I'm positive someone from the community we'll be able to help you.

No problems with any under Vista for me - However running 6 I always use GreyFaces Patch

If you're running Vista you should definitely use the patch. I haven't found a game yet that won't crash at least sometimes.
