Anyone one knows what is the weird icon I'm getting in the lower right corner in might and magic 7 and 8? screenshot attached.

Do you have an NVIDIA graphics card and have GeForce Experience installed?

I'm not on my PC to check, but it looks similar to the GeForce ShadowPlay recorder logo.
